Was plant ever mentioned by golden boy at any point as someone they were looking to face in May? Nope. The names mentioned were murota, Saunders and Smith.

This all came to pass because Plant was asked a hypothetical question about facing Canelo in May right after his fight and he answered by saying that he didn't want to have to go back into another training camp just 2 weeks after finishing a fight the way Kovalev did? Oscar used that as ammunition to pretend that they wanted to fight plant when he never even brought him up prior to then. And as usual, Canelo groupies sipped the kool aid.

Fact is he had a glorified sparring session CompuBox statistics Feigenbutz connected with just 47 of 265 (18%).He could have had 2 weeks off (rest of Feb) , he is already in shape so he could have done light work after to maintain 2 weeks of March.And had 6 weeks to get dialed in for the fight, the man just simply did not want to bet on himself and take not only the biggest payday of his career , but changed the course of his life with a win.He says not enough time to get ready for a fight with Canelo but now he says he is not waiting on anybody LOL.

don't be so gullible. Nobody fears Canelo. Fighters just got tired of his games between catch weights, low ball offers, rehydration clauses and short rest in between fights while Canelo gets a full break. When have you heard plants name mentioned by golden boy as an option for Canelo over the past 4 months? You haven't. You've heard everyone else mentioned at 168 other than plant and benavidez from team Canelo. And it's universally known that they're the best 2 in the division. Not murota, not Saunders and not Smith. Canelo is aiming for the weakest option as usual so don't fall for the foolery. They have no intention of fighting plant or benavidez in may.
