If you watch Roberto Duran fight, and forget he is "Roberto Duran", is his skill set really impressive? I say no.

People act as if Duran was some world beater, his best victory was eeking out a decision against a green 21 year old boy who was Ray Leonard at the time. He got a gift decision against Iran Barkley.

There are several alleged "greats" who if you really look at their skills, they are not special. Marciano, Joe Louis, Julio Cesar Chavez are 3 people who come to mind for me.
    Leonard was 24 not 21..

You can log off here now and never come back. Obviously boxing knowledge isn’t something you have.

Name one former lightweight champion let alone someone who started at featherweight whod go 12 competitive rounds with Hagler?

Duran is an a top 20 all time great......possibly the greatest lightweight of all time

        far from overrated

whats the point of an eye test if the person doesnt understand boxing or what they are watching

Hands of stone is not overrated.
Mayweather is overrated. That should’ve been your thread.

Did you even see Duran vs Hagler? That was a glorified sparring match. Duran developed this style of fainting, throwing 1 punch, holding and then backing out similar to what Bernard Hopkins started doing his last 7-8 years active. He didn't even try to beat Hagler he just tried to survive. Hagler respected Duran too much and he didn't do much either.

I give Duran credit for taking a middleweight and super middleweight fight though. But Duran really didn't try to win.

Lol...how did you score that one man?

Hagler was great but he always struggled vs guys who could box, move and take a shot...and Duran could certainly do that...Marvin didn't really box his way in, he just kind of bounced in there...and that meant vs a guy who can box move/take a shot, that he would lose some rounds for sure.

Him vs Duran was a great fight.
