Fury is no longer planning on standing toe to toe

He maintained this idea of planting his feet in the middle of the ring for 5-6 weeks and has revealed with Gareth Davies that he is now going to be boxing on the back foot with feints / head movement etc.

I don't suppose this is a surprise to many but i'm wondering if this is a case of "i wanted to do A, so I hired trainer X, it didn't work out so i'm resorting to plan B" Or if he was always going to box and he just wanted to sit down on his punches some more?

I think he was just trying to sell the fight in any way possible. I mean when has Fury went toe to toe with any world class guy? He's a backfoot fighter at his best & he'll need to be his best to win this fight.

Too risky to stand in front of a guy who almost took your head off the first time around. Can’t look too much into what fighters talk about in build ups. Most of the time it’s ****** BS

Let’s be serious here. Very few fighters in history could stand toe to toe and trade with Wilder without turning to rubble.

I’d go with McCall, Chuvalo, Vitali, Tua... that’s it.

Wilder doesn't like to trade he proved that in the 12th when Fury backed him off and put him on the backfoot after the KD. It's not his style.

I think furys a strange case when you watch him his reflexes and movements are on point defensively he looks coordinated but as soon as he goes on the offensive he looks uncoordinated and awkward almost flails his punches. So I'm not surprised he's going for a defensive stick and move style.

If you believe he is going to be explaining the nuance of his gameplan in interviews before the fight I have a bridge to sell you. This is just talk because journalist ask you the same thing 400 times.

Im sure Fury can go toe to toe for first 30 seconds, 1 minute of fight to set stall out. Then revert back to what he does best, feel his way.
