school days off do not equal national holidays. There's a difference and 5 de mayo is not a national holiday as you said it was. In the US, certain schools are closed for Chinese new yr or various ***ish holidays like rosh Hashanah, doesn't mean it's a US national holiday. Here's the list of Mexican national holidays vs school days off. Nice try though.

It's about time fighters started to call 'Saul' out on his methodology.
Those who think May is plenty of time obviously don't know much about sufficient recovery time plus at least an 8-12 week camp. That doesn't include negotiations and press tours which Alvarez will also use to wind the clock down on his opponent.
Conversely, fighting twice in one year is a bit lazy for a titlist, three times a year is generally the accepted norm.

listen, it's already proven that it's not a national holiday so give it up. The proof is right there in the various links that I sent you. It's a civic holiday. And that long weekend for students is not just because of 5 de mayo. The 1st of May is labor day in Mexico and the 4th of May in Mexico is cte day which is the equivalent of what a conference day is for teachers here in the US. A day that teachers go to work but students get off. Give it up.
Either way, the main and original point of all this holiday talk was, if Canelo was willing to pass on fighting during an actual national holiday in Mexico like their independence day (which he did this past Sept), it wouldn't be a shocker if he chose to skip 5 de mayo because 5 de mayo is not a more significant date than Mexicos independence day. Canelo is about doing what he feels is best for him, and if there's a better money or more ideal opportunity on another date, he'll pass on 5 de mayo whether Mexican fans care or not.
