How did a fight between #2 and #7 at HW turn in to a rematch between #1 and #2?

Fury, Wilder, 2015 Klitschko are all the best fighters you could possibly fight at heavyweight. Luis Ortiz is in the next tier.
Fury was out for over 2 years, gained 100+ lbs and lost it. That Klitschko win means nothing now. He's looked like **** since his comeback.

This poor mans Fury beat Wilder.

Wilder has avoided all the top HW's apart from old man Ortiz who hasn't fought any of the other top HW's either.

Wilder shouldn't be even in the discussion for top 2.

Fury’s win over Klitschko still matters.

And I used to agree that Wilder didn’t fight anyone but then he fought Ortiz twice and Fury. He should get credit for that.

No it doesn't. This Fury isn't the one that fought Wlad. This is a much poorer Fury proven by him looking like **** and Wilder lost. How does Wilder get credit for being dominated for 10 rounds?

He still hasn't beaten anyone. Ortiz hasn't beaten anyone.

Joshua has a loss while Wilder and Fury don’t, it’s simplistic dumb logic. They are each fairly interchangeable as to who “looks” to be the best, but Joshua obviously has proven the most with consistently better opposition.

Joshua beat the same Klitschko. I remember realising how passed it Klitschko was when he struggled to get off vs Jennings. People shouldn’t act like Fury beat a prime Klitschko, he was on his way out anyway and Fury isn’t even the same fighter. Not even close.

Rankings change. When you get KTFO and quit against an unranked, unknown fighter you tend to drop from #1.

If Wlad was on that much of a decline (which I agree) why do people give Joshua credit for beating him TWO YEARS LATER?!?

It really isn't that hard to figure out. Losing to Ruiz should lower your ranking considerably.

If people gave him that much credit he wouldn’t be disregarded as he is right now. People don’t give Joshua’s entire body of work much credit, which is hilarious when he has by far, unquestionably the best resume right now.

It did and it raised Ruiz to #1. Joshua then beat the #1. Wilder lost to Fury but his ranking didn't lower when it should have, people act like the robbery didn't happen and Wilder is a legit top 2 fighter.
