Usyk got a shot because those are the WBO rules. He is already a mandatory. Coming in as a current CW champion is why he’s getting a title shot not because he’s a former anything .

He got a mando spot before fighting at HW because he was current title holder moving up.

Fury was a fighter that had years off and received a suspension for cheating.

Don't know how you can compare the two.

Fury has looked terrible since his comeback too. He outboxed Wilder but Wilder is a **** boxer.

Sorry lads but former champions skip the queue, it is what it is.

It's a ****** thread anyway, there is no clear champion in the division and the top 3 is pretty much subjective.

The robbery ****ed up the rankings and Wilder is out of place. Wilder shouldn't be a title holder and shouldn't be top 2.

I expect Fury to defeat Wilder again but it doesn’t really change anything AJ . That’s the guy to defeat because neither of those guys has defeated him and we use resumes in boxing for a reason that’s to gage where fighters should be otherwise it would be chaos.

You can’t say Fury is number one unless you think Wilder is over AJ, I personally don’t ,I think AJ takes him out rather quickly . Either way if neither fights AJ defeating one another doesn’t take precedence over Joshua himself. Unless AJ losses again I can’t see it any other way .

Fury is the former lineal champ. When he came back and looked so impressive against Wilder, it put him back in the top three. There’s nothing wrong with that logic.

Even though I thought Wilder lost to Fury, he knocked Fury down twice and did better against Fury than anyone else ever has. That includes Wladimir Klitschko. There’s no reason to bump Wilder out of the top three after that performance, especially considering his wins over Luis Ortiz and his destruction of Dominic Brezeale that happened around the Fury fight.

Anthony Joshua had an awful performance and was knocked out by an unranked fighter in Andy Ruiz. That’s enough to knock him out of the top spot and below two undefeated fighters.

While I don’t believe Ruiz ever should have been ranked number one by TBRB, I understand the logic. But he looked so awful in the rematch with Joshua, it was enough to knock him down in the rankings and question how Joshua ever lost to him. So it makes sense that neither are ranked ahead of two undefeated heavyweights who have fought good competition.

You have Fury and Wilder, followed by the second tier of heavyweights who have all beaten each other, Parker, Ruiz, Whyte and Joshua, along with guys like Ortiz, Hunter and the undefeated younger guys. It all makes sense.

What doesn’t make sense is how anyone was called a champion before a number one vs. number two showdown like Fury-Wilder. How does Wilder fall himself champion for beating Stiverne? How does Joshua call himself champion for beating Parker, Martin and a retired Klitschko (who couldn’t be considered the top guy due to inactivity, which you confirmed with your Fury ranking logic.)? That’s the part that doesn’t make sense.

Fury-Wilder 2 will determine the championship. There was never a champion, only a bunch of contenders and they all eliminated themselves with losses besides these two.

Joshua should eventually get a shot at the title, so don’t worry about that.

No it doesn't make sense. So the top fighters that fought each other get punished and the guys that avoided the top guys get rewarded?

Fury has looked terrible since his comeback.

Wilder who lost to Fury is somehow #1? That makes sense does it?

Wilder and Fury have fought top fighters. They haven’t lost.

The guys ranked below them all beat each other.

They've fought only 1 of the other top 10 HW's between them and that guy fought none himself. They haven't fought the guys ranked below them. Maybe they'd have losses too if they did. Fighters shouldn't ranked higher for avoiding top competition.

Tyson Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko badly. He also fought Deontay Wilder.

Wilder beat Luis Ortiz twice and fought Fury.

Fury, Wilder, 2015 Klitschko are all the best fighters you could possibly fight at heavyweight. Luis Ortiz is in the next tier.
