Dela said "NO". ok PPV date STILL open then Arum once again offers Floyd 8 mil.."no" i want Mosley now ( he will not make as much fighting him as he would fighting Marg,Mosley will want about half where Floyd would get like 90/10 against Marg..so that doesnt make sense) Mosley then says "NO, go fight MARG"....hmmmmmm 8 mil offer still stands. "NO, i want Baldi for less then 8 mil....."..if you dont see that as a duck you are either not knowledgable about the sport and Margarito's style as a threat to Floyd or you're just blind.
You still haven't addressed how not making the fight NOW is a duck. I see that Floyd had several more intriguing options such as DLH and Mosley. And I think a Mosley fight pays close to what he would have got for Margarito. Mosley-Mayweather PPV would be much higher than Mayweather-Margarito REGARDLESS of the split. Sure he could have fought Margarito now or he could fight Baldomir for slightly less money (he will get paid on this fight it is a title unification) and a title. Baldomir will be retired in 2008 FOR SURE. Margarito and Mayweather will both still be in their primes. So as far as I can see the fight is still very makeable and equally profitable. I haven't even begun to get into the fact that GBP has made offers to Margarito as has Jose Rivera. So there are offers out there. I just choose not to destroy Margarito for planning his career how he wants it to go. Sure I would rather see the Margarito-Mayweather fight now because that is the best fight but again I can't control other people's career choices.

They were options before they said no. And Mosley is still an option. His excuse (which you don't consider a duck) was that he had a vacation planned???? After everbody said no then he was in a different position. Baldomir or Margarito. NO ARGUMENT that Margarito is a better fight. But it just isn't a duck in my mind because Floyd has said he will fight Margarito eventually when the time is right. If the fight was worth 8 million now then it couldn't be worth less in a year. Sure I am frustrated that the fight isn't happening now, but I am not going to bring down a great talent because he doesn't do exactly as I want him to.

Floyd is ducking one man. Margarito is ducking half of the top 10 at welterweight (and would be ducking the other half too if they called him out).

Floyd doesn't fight Margarito and decides to fight the lineal welterweight champion of the world.

Margarito doesn't fight Floyd and decides to fight another prospect. This is why Margarito is a joke and gets no respect from me...

I don't like bashing Margarito because I feel that some fighters really are scared of him (like Judah or Mosley) but I definitely see your point. To people who want Mayweather to fight Margarito its all or nothing. Either Floyd is the biggest ***** ever for not fighting him or is finally stepping up to the plate if he does. I think that one the best fighters in the sport has earned the right to fight who he wants to fight as long as the fights are credible. This is a credible fight for Floyd against the RECOGNIZED champ. I'm not saying Baldomir is better or worse than Margarito just that he has something Margarito doesn't. Margarito could have had the RECOGNIZED title if he would simply drop that trinket around his waist and get ranked by the other bodies. But hey Margarito has arrived and doesn't need to do anything, people should be begging to fight him. Now consider that Floyd fought a title eliminator to get what he wanted (a shot at Gatti). It just seems there is a lot of double standards being thrown around.
