They both have fairly equal body attacks both are very strong in later rounds both are good inside fighters.

    Hatton advantages:
Hatton might have natural weight advantage and possibly a higher work rate.

    Castillo advantages:
Castillo has better defence fights better at a distance and has a better beard than Hatton.

At 140lbs I would give Castillo the edge at 147lbs I'm not so sure.

Any way many here know that I am 2x more excited about the prospect of Castillo-Hatton-Cotto-Margarito all fighting each other than I am of PBF fighting them, because I think styles make fights and those would be super exciting action filled fights.
i think hattons body attack is better. his left hook to the body is something of pure beauty. Hatton also has a big stamina advantage. He is a stamina freak

I think castillo has the better defense, but its not like its MUCH better. but it is better.

And they both have great chins, but castillo is one tough cat. i dont think hes ever been down in his career?

probably around april or may 2007. hatton is fighting URKAL in december. He usually takes 5-6 months between fights because of his style. We could see the fight earlier if hatton finishes urkal off early which is possible.

What we all want is for hatton to dump the belt and ignore his mandatory with urkal, and go to manchester england to fight castillo on december 2nd on HBO.

Without a doubt, this could potentially be a GREAT fight but it isn't 100% guaranteed. Remember when Hatton's ass was getting kicked by Collazo, Ricky "Clinch-Man" Hatton used his boring tactics? Who's to say Ricky won't use "The Ruiz Disease" when he's facing adversity again?

Now once again my question is IF the fight with Castillo is gonna be at 140lbs why would he even bother defending his 147lb belt against a no name mandatory? He should just fight Castillo right now. They dont even have to worry about the suspension because the can fight at the MEN. Does this mean that the fight MIGHT be at 147lbs and not 140lbs?

And he doesnt grab on, he just holds his arms around his opponent. He breaks himself out a lot as well.

I think he'll give up the clinching once he realizes it wouldnt work against castillo. As praised as castillo is, he is very under-rated. He is a great inside fighter. I can say with 80% assurance, that this fight will be FOTY or at least a contender for it.
Actually Hatton also clinched heavily in the Tzu fight and somewhat in the Maussa fight. Its that clinch and hit style that he sometimes devolves too that is boring. Unless the fight is at 147lbs I would have to say that Castillo will prove the more durable in this apparent battle of attrition.

Yeah I vowed to never pay for a Castillo fight in person or PPV after the crap he pulled even if he were facing one of my favorite fighters or if it were an easy FOTY candidate (this one should be). I doubt Hatton takes it, he seems to want to fight B-level opposition still

so JLC is gonna move up to 147 from lightweight to fight hatton? he'd make weight but do u think 147 is to much for castillo? anyway this will be a brawl but i bet its gonna set the record for most fouls in a fight, headbutts lowblows u name it, maybe even a double DQ

heh that would be funny, double DQ

But on a more serious note, I think Castillo will show Hatton what inside fighting is all about and get a TKO win in the later rounds.
