After watching Castillo's first fight with Corrales you might think that Castillo would go to war with Hatton too and the fight might turn out to be just as good. Or on the otherhand it might turn out to be a boring 12 round UD. -

There is a better chance of my wife sucking an 18 inch **** in the next 5 minutes then this fight being a borefest.
BTW-my wife is on the couch sick right now...this fight is a sure thing...just to be safe though I wont let her out of my site for at least the next 5 min...you never know when one of those monsters is lurking close by!Comment

This is definite FOTY material. It has been awhile since two skilled in-fighters with boxing/swarming styles of this magnitude have faced off. If it comes off, it's a fight fans dream.
I would have to go with Castillo here, but just by a nose. I think he does HAttons game better than he does sans mugging. He'll work that double left hook and will outland Hatton down the stretch to win a thin decision.Comment

I can't even believe I just read this!Originally posted by BostonGuyThe question here is; is Hatton-Castillo ppv material? I'm not sure I would buy it...
Maybe I would, if they put on a great undercard.
Hatton-Castillo is a HUGE fight and one that, after all the **** that both of them have had to go through, would remind everyone of their great qualities.
PPV worthy?
The next big HBO main event is Rahman-Maskaev, so when it comes to Hatton-Castillo it should be a case of no questions necessary.
Hatton owuld be doing the right thing by going down to 140 again. He doesn't have to be a hero about it and chase titles at multiple weights. Hatton can solidify a legacy at 140 to stand with some of the great fighters there, and beating Castillo in the type of fight they would have would be an invaluable asset to that legacy.
However, it wouldn't happen. Castillo is made of an entirely different cloth to Hatton. Yes, I know I would say that. But all bias aside, we're nott alking about what has happened outside of the ring; inside it, Castillo is a monster Hatton cannot tame.
And even on the outside chance that Hatton won, he'd be ****ed for life with the punishment that Castillo would dish out to him. Believe me, I'm British myself and I don't like the thought of what Castillo would do to that delicate white skin of Hatton's.Comment

It's an interesting fight for sure, especially because with Castillo moving up there isn't the size disparity you'd think.
Castillo is bursting out trying to make 135, and is 5'8 to Hatton's 5'6, and has 3 inches of reach at 69 to Ricky's 66.
Hatton walks around quite Heavy between fights but so does Castillo.
I'd have to favor Castillo slightly because I've seen Ricky hurt more so than I have JC, but it's close enough it could go either way.Comment

Man this fight would be fight of the year. Ricky Hatton has already said if he fought Castillo that he would outbox him, but what are the chances of that really happing when Floyd Mayweather himself couldn't do that. Castillo's last fight was a bore fest because he fought a guy that only wanted to last 12 rounds, while Ricky Hatton is a pressure fighter like Castillo. This fight would have two big trains colliding in the middle of the ring. No way would this fight be boring.Comment

Great Fight. In my mind I am favoring Castillo slightly based on the fact that he doesn't cut as easily and has a more solid chin. But I also THINK of Castillo as the bigger man when Hatton is the established 140 pounder. If Hatton can get inside effectively without taking too much punishment I think he has a good chance. I think Castillo wins a late TKO on cuts but this fight is even on the score cards at the time or split. Anyway all action fight. Hope this comes off.Comment

Castillo will be fine at 140, did you know Castillo has already had fights at 147?, and Castillo is bigger than hatton so size won't be a problem. This will be all about skill.Originally posted by amagninGreat Fight. In my mind I am favoring Castillo slightly based on the fact that he doesn't cut as easily and has a more solid chin. Yeah I knew Castillo was taller and had the reach advantage, but I felt Hatton was bigger. I've heard Hatton really fattens up between fights so I figured the day of the fight Hatton will weigh more. But you are right that this will come down to skills. That is why I like Castillo, he uses the jab much more effectively and is equally good inside. I give Hatton a slight edge in body punching but Castillo is also great there. I just think Castillo is the slightly more polished and experienced fighter and that will be the difference.Originally posted by HendrixLoveCastillo will be fine at 140, did you know Castillo has already had fights at 147?, and Castillo is bigger than hatton so size won't be a problem.
