Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder: I'm The Best African-American Boxer Right Now

Wilder must have a very low IQ. He needs to put his foot (or glove) in his mouth and focus on boxing. Is he the best African American boxer in the heavyweight division? Perhaps......But that's not saying much. The heavyweight division sucks. If he feels he's the best African American pound for pound, he's been drinking that stuff that makes Amir Khan's mind play tricks on hin.

It is frustrating as hell sharing a forum with so many over opinionated know-it-alls who don't actually even know the most basic and fundamental tenets of the sport, the training, or the culture.
The fact that you presented your argument as if it is not coming from assumption and misunderstanding qualifies you as the worst kind of poster on this forum. Eat a **** and try to learn some boxing while you're at it.
You put far too much emphasis on his lack of skills being a ruse, he simply isn't good. He is not a very bright man (he is pretty dumb truth be told) he doesn't have the mental capacity to do that so convincingly.
Your observations are basically; if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a Tyrannosaurus.
I can see you have some special love for Wilder but you are completely deluding yourself and think he is something he is not.
He was clueless against Fury, he wasn't acting, he was out of his league with regards to ring craft. If you can't see that maybe boxing isn't for you.

Of course there are differences in culture and behaviour, but to judge a man on the colour of his skin is so very, very dumb.
I never claimed there was no racism (I don't understand where you get that from) I'm just saying intelligence and racism are mutually exclusive.

Wilder's strategy is different depending on the opponent. Aggressive fighters are wide open, so obviously he can finish them early. Others have to be tricked into moving to vulnerable positions over a number of rounds while he carefully conserves his energy for the big knockout punches. You cannot land these types of punches with just power. They require skills such as perfect timing, accuracy, and reading your opponent. If you pay attention, you'll see that he has much more success in the later rounds of his fights. That's because he's figuring out the pattern of his opponents movement. That's the sign of an intelligent fighter, and it's why he's dangerous for all 12 rounds.
