Maybe GGG should gire Sanchez back.

No, too much baggage between the two.
GGG felt Abel wasn't worth a pay raise, then Abel threw GGG under the bus by badmouthing him to the media. Just a total mess on both sides, but at least Golovkin tried to keep it professional, while Abel took it personally.Comment

He's old.
His reflexes are not as sharp as they use to be, and that's a big ****ing deal in boxing. Those few milliseconds it takes to react to a punch are important as ****.
He's not as explosive. His endurance is still there, but even then, I highly doubt he can go at the same output/intensity as when he was say, 30 years old. Same thing for power. I imagine he still hits pretty hard, but I doubt it's the same as when he was 30.
This is to be expected. He's not going to get any better, he's aging. You can't beat time.Comment

Damn you’re ****** lolI think the split was necessary because Sanchez is blind (or ******) as a bat. If your only plan is to come forward leading with your chin against a much younger fighter with much faster hands and therefore a better inside game. Then you are incompetent.
Golovkin was exactly right to control distance and score with and off the jab. Sanchez' reaction after the second fight was to complain about Golovkin going away from "the plan". Sanchez didn't have a plan beyond one a 12 year old could have devised.
Ggg can’t outbox canelo so his best shot was to out fight him which he couldn’t do in the rematch. Ggg was scared of the body attack and counters and that kept him backing up in those early middle rds.
Bottom line is it doesn’t matter who was in gggs corner canelo is the overall better fighter plain n simple.Comment

Loeffler promoted GGG. Loeffler got him on HBO. Sanchez was a mouthpiece that made finicky *****ers like you hate GGG because of things that he said in interviews.Comment

Man there's alot of things goin on with GGG at this point. As to the question Sanchez an GGG closed that door to reconnect but I personally felt he shouldn't have switched trainers. With Sanchez wanting a raise since GGG was getting paid more people forget GGG is tryin to start his own promotion which doesn't make sense at this point so GGG is tryin to save $ personally he would've paid Sanchez but I'm sure GGG has a new advisor or someone helping him with this new cash flow he has now so thats a real possibility why he didn't wanna give Sanchez more $. With the new trainer he's tryin to rely on the new techniques from banks to much instead of mixing it up with his old techniques he's ever known like one of u guys said he's tryin these things with contenders an champs of th division so its not gonna look well especially since he's getting older. People forget those 1st two rds of the dervy fight **** it looked like it was gonna end early but GGG tried these new techniques to catch dervy comin in so he could end the fight but GGG also went away from his game an didn't throw punches so he was out there tryin to be a defensive wizard which he never willComment

At the end of the day with this new trainer it shouldn't hurt GGG it should actually help him. I think him an banks need to be communicating better an realize hey u can rely on these things I'm teaching u but don't go away from what got u to this point which was cutting off the ring with opponents an working off his jab which was probably the best in the game this past decade. My wishful thinking is I wish GGG could jus fight southpaw since his left hand is his faster hand an in my opinion but we all know the risk in thatComment

I ain't saying any of this is wrong, but there's a little more than that I think. Rozier has had three shots at GGG and he's figured a few things out. Firstly that Golovkin isn't punching when he's being punched at and secondly that Golovkin has a tendency to tuck and and block a lot of the incoming on his arms when the opponent ain't loading up rather than slipping - effective at preventing harm, but landed shots are landed shots and likely to be scored at such even if they ain't doing much. I think Rozier figured out a strategy which he tried with Danny and perfected with Sergiy which took advantage of some of the facets of GGs style which hadn't really been exploited before. Price of being big enough for long enough is that guys get time to figure you out. And - course - Golovkin is slowing down, inevitably.SD is a technician who was fighting a guy trying out a new fight approach against the wrong opponent. It was a bad idea and Golovkins trainer should’ve known this and realized it. He can’t go in there trying to reinvent himself against high iq fighters. Save that shh for this upcoming fight if you have to try it in a first. I think banks is trying to reinvent him too much and Golovkin is buying into it. He’s far too slow and too long in the tooth for it. As a fan he’s lost more than a step, he went from being a slowish puncher to almost telegraphing his punches these last two fights.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 02-06-2020, 12:57 PM.Comment
