Russell Jr vs King Tug, who wins?

I think this fight will be a lot closer than people are expecting.

Nyambayar is a skilled fighter with great pedigree. I think his volume and consistent pressure could be a big problem for GRJ.

However, the one shot Tug seems open to is the counter left hand which is Russell’s money punch. I expect his chin will hold up but GRJ will likely consistently score with the left hand. I expect Russell’s speed could also cause Nyambayar trouble, especially during exchanges.

I think GRJ will edge a close but clear decision, but he’s gonna have to work for it.

How do people see this fight going?

It will be a hard fight but Russell's superior class should see him through. I initially thought that Russell will be looking to make a statement, and will be aiming for the KO, but I just rewatched the Escandon fights (by both Russell and Nyambayar) and I'm starting to think that Russell will have to take it on points. Nyambayar looks like a tough cookie... maybe Russell will have to rely on his speed and movement this time, which should be enough to confuse and defuse Nyambayar

Russell Jr wins. Hes coming in fresh off a win and his opponent is coming off a 13 month layoff for a change.

That 9 months is considered 'fresh off a win' is possibly the most hilarious indictment of Gary's inactivity I've yet heard.

To make it even worse King Tug's barely more active than Gary... between the pair of 'em they've totalled just 7 fights in the last 3 years.

Still. I'm being unduly negative. It actually should be a really good fight, but yeah I'm thinking Gary's speed and southpaw left are actually gonna cause King Tug real issues, although equally Nyambyar ain't a guy that's gonna get discouraged and I figure he'll keep the pressure up all night long.

I'm gonna take the upset and pick Tug by a close decision.

I have not seen the other guy fight but Russell is almost a 4 to 1 betting favorite and the other guy only has 11 pro fights. The odds makers usually get it right. I hope the guy from Mongolia wins but I think he loses. It would be nice to replace Russell with a guy who defends his title more than once a year. They both have a fan friendly style from the short film i saw on the other guy. It should be a good fight.

Russell Jr Speed will trouble Tug so I lean towards him BUT Tug could catch him and he does have the Pop to turn a fight in his favor real fast

Russell will win, his speed is hard to gauge especially when he fights so infrequently.
