The long-reigning featherweight titlist is already well within the divisional weight limit for his upcoming mandatory defense versus Mongolia's Tugstsogt Nyamyabar (11-0, 9KOs). Excited for this one actually. King Tug is a very LIVE and Dangerous Underdog, would not be shocked or upset if he pulled this one off. I like both fighters, Russell Jr needs this one to finally get that big fight he been begging for

I hope Russell Jr wasn't in the Sauna to make weight for this one, if so and he tried to take a shortcut to making weight then this could easily back fire on him with King Tug catching him late

He is, his fight against Marrero was a very good one. If Russell beats him in style, that would be impressive... and probably elicit more question marks in regard to the scarcity of his fights.

I don't know much about Nyamyabar but on this site and guys I talk to all say he has a real chance to beat Gary.

This fight smells kinda funny. On paper and off the eyeball test, Russell is the choice but his inactivity doesnt give me the reassurance as a betting man.

Tug hasnt done much lately either but he’s a fresh young fighter and youth can deal with Inactivity better. He got some size on Russell too and believe he can win.

Russell is currently second only to Deontay Wilder as the sport’s longest-reigning active major titlist. Wilder has made 10 successful defenses of the heavyweight title he claimed in January 2015, and is set to attempt his 11th defense in a February 22 rematch with Tyson Fury.

GRjr only has 4 defenses of his title, 5 including this one. Its easy to have longevity when you only fight once a year.
