people can go on and claim "if you knock golovkin you downgrade canelo"...which is a sad copout....

canelo is 29...he has titles in 4 classes...at 24 he fought the top p4p guy in the sport....

if you remove golovkin from canelos resume it still stands on its own(yes the gggroupies and canelo haters will try to pick holes in it i know)......if you remove canelo from golovkins resume it doesnt stand up...and hes 8 years older....

canelo waited until he was comfortable making the move to golovkins weight division......thats its....lames try to make it more than what it is

Yeah, dwarf Rhees gave Boner hell-comedy times!

        Puzzling that ain't it?

I mean, you can kinda get it when the dude's in the news or whatever, but there does seem to have been a sudden upswing in GGG related threads just this last coupla days for no reason I can fathom.

EDIT: Mmm. I just wondering if it's maybe something to do with Rold's 'The 2010s In the rankings' series. Looks like GGG s figuring to rank pretty highly there. Maybe that's what got folk excited.

Put it this way, GGG is probably still the betting favorite to anyone that is below Canelo.

I think the majority of folks on here think he would win against the following:
          Charlo
          Andrade
          Ebanks
          BJS
          Munguia
          Derevy 2
          Jacobs 2

But honestly he's already getting too old so maybe taking one last big fight and then mandos is good enough to retire.

you basically agreed with the thread starter

He didn't though so all we got is speculation one way or another and the actual fights with Canelo to base his ceiling on.

Well... depends on your definition I guess. I was asked a coupla years ago where i thought Golovkin landed as a great and I said I might just be able to squeeze him into a MW top 20. Ain't really done anything since then to make me think much different.

Problem with you, probably some of the other dudes who wasted years of your life ragging on Golovkin you act as if cos one or two guys claimed GGG was some ATG legend that everyone who likes GGG thought the same thing which was never the case.

That said I would point out that the post you quote was referencing a P4P / H2H discussion, not accomplishments or greatness. They're two slightly different things although the TS mentions both.

This is the 3nd thread you have started this week hating on GGG. You seem obsessed with hating him and convincing this forum to hate him as much as you do. He was number 1 on every reputable pound for pound best list for many years in his prime. Why do you think that is if he is as lousy as you claim? He is almost 38 so like every other boxer alive he isn't as good as he once was. He is still a world champion and still good enough to be rated in the top 7 pound for pound best fighters in the world by the main lists right now so GGG fans are not eating crow. He is pound for pound the 3rd best fighter in the world by Boxrec, The 6th best in the world by ESPN and the 7th best pound for pound fighter in the world by Ring magazine. There is no other 37 year old boxer rated so highly pound for pound. The ones rated ahead of him are many years younger and will be retired before they are his age.
