That's a fair argument. If Golovkin had run into a fighter or fighters that had caused him real problems that he'd been unable to overcome earlier in his career it would be fair to rank him down accordingly.

He didn't though so all we got is speculation one way or another and the actual fights with Canelo to base his ceiling on.

He ran in to a fighter that had lost 5 of his last 7 who caused him real problems called Ouma.

I know. That was in fact what I was refering to when I said 'that he'd been unable to overcome'. If you want to say that was more than an off night and is proof that Golovkin was never all that then go ahead. i ain't gonna stand in your way.

It probably should be pointed out that GGG wasn't the first or last fighter to struggle with someone he wouldn't be expected to though, and that he did succeed in KOing Kassim in the end, whatever the circumstances.

Sounds like the whole "eye test" nonsense.

Alvarez has titles in four weight classes. Bumlovkin, OTOH, wants to beat up on Jr Middleweights and Welterweights. Bumlovkin is not in Alvarez' class.

the same people who say " this fighter or that fighter has ko's over who?" should apply this logic to GGG

Of all his fights competing with top middleweights he has not looked impressive.....2 fights with canelo, one with Jacobs could have gone either way and also Sergiy Derevyanchenko was a life and death struggle

to this day he doesnt have a clear win over an elite or p4p guy

winning trinkets and being elevated as champion doesnt warrant that type of hype

eat crow Golov-tards....very good fighter just simply was never a great one or an all time great
So, in turn, you are downgrading Canelo? I mean, an older, on his way out GGG beat prime Canelo.

Yet they were barely seperated over 24 rounds. How bout that?

Simple fact is not all fighters' circumstances are the same and not all fighters get the same opportunities. Canelo will surely go down as the greater and more accomplished fighter when all is said and done but it does not automatically follow that he is or was a better fighter H2H in his prime which is, I believe, what the TS what talking about.

That said, if you're one of those dudes who call top level fighters silly names then I guess I just wasted 60 or so words on you. Ah well. I wasn't doing much anyways.
