I understand that it is prize fighting and money split is a big thing that hampers some negotiations for meaningful fights. But at the end I don't care, I just want to see the fight. I could care less what they make because I am not getting a dime from it.

I hate when superstars are at a certain weight because it freezes everybody from fighting waiting for that opportunity. Look at the Canelo situation.

154 is wide open because there is no 147 or 154 superstar fighting at that weight. Pac is not going to fight any 154 so they have to fight amongst themselves and that is why we have this title turnover.

That would imply that casual people actually want to search for things though. Most aren't. The vast majority see it as an opportunity to go out with mates, get drunk, make it a party, cheer the Brit, boo the opposing pantomime villain and then continue their night.

The idea or belief that most UK fans sit their researching the facts and history and still worship their guys in delusion is incorrect. Most people wouldn't even know about DW's first test.

Forums like this or comments on a boxing YT channel are not an accurate representation of the average joe on the street.

They’re actually the casuals, the majority of those guys only watch Sky shows. That’s the main problem in regards to UK sports. Sky completely dominate the television market and further dominate the sports sector, so a lot of fans only consume sports via Sky and the fact that Matchroom have an exclusive deal with Sky makes this even worse.

This is what creates such delusional opinions, as the only boxing insight they get is from Hearn or paid shills like Adam Smith, Bellew, Nelson etc. Sky sports boxing is genuinely comparable to Soviet propaganda.
Most of the newspapers are owned by Rubert Murdoch as well, who also owns Sky. Isn't talksport as well?

Correct. That’s what makes me laugh when you see fighters like Bellew, Smith, Fowler etc crying about people buying the sun newspaper when they’re literally taking pay cheques from Murdoch.

Agreed. I hate the way all these guys like Andrade, BJS etc are content just facing low risk and to put it bluntly mediocre opposition, just hoping they land the winning ticket in the Canelo sweepstakes.

People should take a page out of the Maidana playbook, he went out there and earned those Mayweather paydays.
