MMA is huge with the young folks. Only getting bigger. So many different ways to win/lose a fight.

Ramirez vs Crawford please Top Rank? One guy at 140 with intentions to go undisputed. And the other at 147 with no dance partners. Maybe in the future?

Arum is desperate to make this fight, I guess he thinks it makes huge money and an L in MMA wont really hurt crawfords earning in boxing.
I wish Arum made as much effort to get Crawford a PBC fight with any of their top 5 guys. There is nobody left in top rank for him to fight at 147.

I dont in any way see 1) Crawford ever fighting at 170 2) translating KO power to 170.
Crawford wouldn’t knock out a LHW in boxing today if he moved up to 170. That is WW in MMA. He is 32 and on a 5’8” frame I don’t see it happening. In addition, at 170 Connor is a legit 170 professional MMA fighter. Yes he started at 18 and yes his foundation is boxing. But after more than a decade in MMA he has knees, legs, elbows and based on the last fight broke Cowboy’s nose with his shoulder of all things.
No he doesn’t have the greatest ground SUBMIT game but he has been in the ground plenty and defended himself against some of the greatest grapplers in the pro game today. Couple that with what I stated earlier that Crawford isn’t KOing a 170 pound professional in MMA then I don’t see in any way a win. However in boxing he’d eventually tire McGregor out and I could see an exhaustion KO like Floyd did when McGregor quite frankly couldn’t hold up his hands to defend himself any longer.
MMA stand up and boxing power are different. Conor had zero power against floyd. I was surprised Conor took floyd's shots as well as he did.
In boxing, Crawford sparks Conor out easy. In MMA if he is looking for take downs and whatever else and isnt throwing with the same power then who knows if the power would be the same and that is assuming he lands. Reality is conor would just submit him regardless of whatever wrestling Crawford did 15 years ago.
But punch for punch, crawford punches waaaay harder than conor, doesnt matter than conor is 170. Conor was around 170 for mayweather and had zero power.Last edited by elfag; 02-01-2020, 06:37 AM.

As in, zero problems whatsoever.
