Hearn said AJ will fight Pulev in May-June...

    ... the article then reads:

Ukraine’s Usyk is armed with a similar guarantee from the WBO, which ordered his mandatory title shot to come on or before June 4, 2020.

For now, it appears that there exists cooperation amongst the governing bodies. It will also mean that Joshua will have to either go the year without pursuing another title—meaning, the winner of the February 22 rematch between World Boxing Council (WBC) titlist Deontay Wilder (42-0-1, 41KOs) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and England’s Tyson Fury (29-0-1, 20KO)—or go into such a fight with one less belt.

“So for now, we’re moving forward with what looks like Joshua-Pulev,” notes Hearn. “We are looking at late May, early June, likely in London. From there, the winner would fight Usyk. The only way that Joshua wouldn’t fight Usyk is if he got the Wilder-Fury winner. That wouldn’t be undisputed, though, because the WBO will of course have to protect Usyk and order that fight."

As long as AJ-Pulev is to take place in May-early June it will be impossible to hold back WBO (who ordered AJ-Usyk for 4 June)... Hearn can't conclude a fight vs the winner of Wilder-Furry in a matter or hours-days... Therefore he expects WBO to strip AJ in the process...
Thank you for highlighting that...... I've been trying to get a serious answer why Joshua is not clearing his mandatories and trying to fight 3 times in one year for a change.... haven't had one good response yet, just people saying Wilder has fought the same amount, even though he will fight 5 times in 2 years come February 22nd, and doesn't have 2 fighters mandated to fight him.

... I don't think that Wilder vs Joshua will happen soon (if ever) -- the is too much business adversity between Haymon/PBC/Fox and Hearn/Matchroom/DAZN... So... (maybe only if DAZN collapses...)

I think Saudi has thrown a spanner in the works for the winner vs Joshua, the site fee plus UK PPV at 9pm will beat US PPV.

I don't think Haymon will allow Wilder to fight outside his sphere of influence, so hope Fury wins.

We'll find out soon enough, Wilder won't win a round, just a punchers chance.

... which chance he never missed so far (even if Fury manage to be standing at 9...)

Fury the first fight is not the Fury of today..... it took him 4 rounds just to shake the rust off the first time (visibly to any one who has followed him)..... Wilder does not have that advantage of Fury not being match fit or sharp now.

I don't have anything to say against Fury... he's fine... he got up and he was even able to fight back in the 12th... but the odds are quite clear...

I don't care about odds, I have seen enough over the years from Fury and Wilder (seen most of both of their fights) to know that Fury is far superior in ever aspect of boxing barring the right hand and the power.

Wilder can land it, sure, but the chances are slim against a match fit Fury who will be fighting sharper and smarter and going inside more.

He tried to stay in the danger zone and box 12 rounds on the outside last time..... not gona happen twice, Fury gona mix it up and totally outbox Wilder.

OK... even if Fury would outbox Wilder, and (then) Fury would fight AJ (with what outcome?), people will still wish to watch Wilder vs Joshua... ... so it goes...
