Comments Thread For: Hearn: Moving Forward With Joshua-Pulev, Late May Or Early June

MIAMI-It was a very productive fight week for Eddie Hearn, well beyond the event for which he was in town to promote. Among the many topics tackled by the British promoter was securing a firm direction for Matchroom Boxing's star client, Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21KOs). The two-time unified heavyweight titlist is pressed with a pair of sanctioning body-ordered mandatory title defenses, with the International Boxing Federation (IBF) appointing Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev (28-1, 14KOs) as next line, while World Boxing Organization (WBO) has called for Joshua to next face former World cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk (17-0, 13KOs).

Bob Arum said Joshua won't lose his WBO belt, and he will fight Pulev. I hope that's true (you never know with Bob), but if Joshua has to drop one belt, I wish he would drop the IBF. No one cares about Pulev!

Hearn is lying again, isn't he?

If Joshua beats Pulev then fights Wilder next the WBO can't strip Joshua for that. Because unifications Trump mandatories, right?

If AJ fights anyone it’s definitely not Wilder because Fury most likely wins and Wilder doesn’t want the fight his recent declines prove it like days before the Ruiz fight where he said he plans on fighting undisputed then 2 days later after AJ won said that fight will never happen . Ha

Fury got knocked down twice last time. This time it will be even worse.

What does that have to do with Wilder avoiding AJ ?

Unifications only trump mandatories if it’s not called yet . Only other way to get a unification with mandatory being called if they agree to fight Usyk next and he takes step aside money
