GGG accepted the fight in 2013. Fact.
Later he had no interest, Ward was no draw, and GGG was making millions at his own division. GGG made in 1 fight with Canelo more than Ward did in his whole career.

The only official reports that came out in 2013 regarding GGG vs Ward is Ward calling out GGG.

You’ve been here long enough, you should know better than to just post nonsense with no sources.
Sanchez talked about that 164 CW, the truth is that they had no interest in Ward at that point. They had already grew as a big name and were in line to make dozens of millions fighting for the MW undisputed title. There was no sense in going to 168 to make 2M fighting Ward and you know it.

Which obscure website? bad left hook is a pretty known website and the interview was originally in russian language. Here you have the link just remove one e from the domain:

      From 2013:

"As for me and Golovkin, look at my body of work. I'll fight anyone out there. But look at his body of work and look at mine. There is no comparison. I fought the last three years with no break. I've been in grind mode. Let him build up his resume, get a body of work first, then we can talk."

Ward says he will fight anyone...then says he wouldn't find GGG until GGG builds up his name lol...that basically affirms GGG's statement that GGG was ready for the fight in 2013, and Ward didn't want it...call it ducking, call it whatever you want, but it is what it is.

If people like Ward's style and not GGG's or whatever, that's fine, to each his own...but Ward is so two-faced I can't believe anyone believes a word he says tbh.

"As we moved into 2015, the fight looked no nearer to being made, but the cold war being fought in the media rumbled on. In June Golovkin gave an uncharacteristically angry interview in Russian, blasting the American for trying to generate publicity by using his name and accusing him of already turning down the chance to fight once in the past: “At our meeting with HBO they asked us whether we are ready to box. You know our answers – I said yes, you said no. You said something about your shoulder or promoter – I’m not interested in the reason, I only heard your ‘no.’” Golovkin ended with some particularly harsh words aimed directly at his rival: “As a man, you are dead to me”.

Precise details of the meeting Golovkin was referring to are not easy to find, though neither Ward nor HBO have ever denied it took place."

"Hey, Ward, wake up! Why are you talking trash about other people? Speak for yourself. If you're trying to make a name for yourself by mentioning me to build up your own fight, then be a man about it and tell the truth. At our meeting with HBO they asked us whether we are ready to box. You know our answers - I said yes, you said no. You said something about your shoulder or promoter - I'm not interested in the reason, I only heard your "no." But you remember that HBO said then that they would need a long time to build-up the fight. Then what the **** are you talking about excuses?"

"If you do provocative attacks, do not even think that Loeffler [Gennady's K2 promoter] will buy into them. You haven't been interesting to anyone for a long time, so he will no longer engage in the promotion of your name. Go and build your own image. Although everyone already knows what you are, and because of this, they do not go to your fights."

"You shouldn't worry about who I'm going to box or have boxed. You, like the rest, were lucky with the "Super Six" tournament because you got your opponents by contract. And who are you fighting now? The fourth-fifth ranked fighters in England...If I say that I'm ready to box any middleweight and ready to rise to 168 for a big fight, then I am responsible for the words. And I have nothing left to discuss with you. As a man, you are dead to me."

Damn that's cold-blooded lol...never read that whole piece before...only thing I would have added is how Ward was fortunate all of his super 6 fights were in his backyard as well, or well of all his fights he was the home fighter...but yeah that was pretty good stuff lol.

Clear ATG at MW, one of the premier divisions in boxing...not sure how there is an argument against it tbh

So HBO said the fight needed time to build. So what exactly was he accepting? There was no offer. The fight didn't make sense to anyone.

What I understand is that HBO said that due to the fact that Ward couldn't accept the fight at the moment, then they would need time to build it.

Ward offered Golovkin little money at 168. Golovkin kept working on his own division and made 100+ M.

Yes good point Maxi...also HBO offered the fight in that meeting (reportedly)...GGG accepted the offer, Ward did not...whether it was for a build up situation straightaway, or they only offered that solution once Ward said no to the 'fight now' plan I'm not sure.

My guess is HBO wanted to build it up anyway...and GGG was ready to do whatever...he had less bargaining power then than Ward did, and a loss to Ward at that time wouldn't have greatly killed GGG's career - could have just hyped it as losing to a great bigger man...it seems Ward didn't want to go that route and mentioned the shoulder and promoter issues as outs for him.

As Ward himself said here in January 2013:

"As for me and Golovkin, look at my body of work. I'll fight anyone out there. But look at his body of work and look at mine. There is no comparison. I fought the last three years with no break. I've been in grind mode. Let him build up his resume, get a body of work first, then we can talk."

He had no real intention of facing GGG there.

No you missed the point of my posts. What I am dis*****g is the sincerity of your posts. I'm pointing out that you are trolling and not making reasonable points.

Just to add. In the account your referred to Golovkin mentioned that Ward claimed to have shoulder problems and issues with his promoter during that meeting. Both the shoulder and promoter issue were in play in 2013. Like you pointed out both Ward and HBO did not dispute Golovkin's account of the meeting.
