Very few people accepted the DRAW in the first fight. I was one of them. Had Canelo done 25% more output, even if 70% of the added output were misses (considering the 30% landed are accurate) then Canelo would've won indefinitely in the first fight, but the DRAW was there, and Canelo showed something NEW to his arsenal having never fought like that before. Canelo doing rope a dope with the beast and getting his counters is a classic throwback.

Also GGG didn't show up in the Canelo fight, it was basically more out of range fighting as he fought Lemieux. The difference is that GGG got away with it with Lemieux because he got a KO, but not everyone was buying the ''Mexican style brawl'' fight in the first fight. Many GGG fans excuse that and others in industry whom never followed the pandering from K2, so it took for granted that the point system from amateur style was all that was needed. GGG brought that on his himself.

Then comes the 2nd fight, and again, both state they will do MORE or BRAWL to not have any controversy. Guess which one of them came to show up? Canelo. Everybody acknowledged it and a tad bit form industry where SPECIFICALLY critical about Abel Sanchez's ''Mexican Style'' that wasn't there in both fights.

    Team GGG were humbled.

Cotto and Canelo had never even fought at 160. So they were actually the 159, 157, and 155 champions. As you said MW is 155-160. If you are an AGING B side fighter...make the concession to make the fight happen

The difference is Ward didnt fight anyone. He went inactive for 2 years for shoulder surgery and contract disputes

What Ward did NOT do was duck a fight with GGG to fight Vanes or Rolls or Monroe Jr.

Once all that was resolved Ward came a knocking and GGG did not want the fight, period.

The sanctioned weight limit for every middleweight title fight is 160lbs.

As a condition of Golovkin stepping aside to allow Cottoo and Canelo to fight each other before him, they both give written guarantees that the winner of their match would fight GGG at the sanctioned MW limit or forfeit the WBC title.

Fact: GGG was never offered a fight with Cotto at any weight.

Fact: GGG was never offered a fight with Canelo at 155lbs.

Here are a few facts about the offer that GGG received from Ward:

It had no date - unless you want to count "sometime next year" as a date - no venue, no specified purse, and it came at a time when GGG had just signed for his first PPV headliner with Lemieux and had been guaranteed an immediate mandatory shot at the winner of the upcoming Canelo/Cotto WBC title fight.

Loeffler responded to the offer by telling Ward's team to get back to them in 2017 because GGG was committed to staying at 160 for the whole of 2016.

Ward was an aging b side fighter who did not want to do it at 164 though.

This is all nuthuggery and semantics...

"Fact": WBC sanctioned 160lb lineal title championship match for Cotto at 159, 157, and 155.

                What is confusing?

That's a fair criticism. The initial challenge was at 168 and Ward accepted. Then it became a CW 164 even though Froch and JCC Jr were okay for 168.

Kind of like how GGG said he would fight Floyd at 154 but Canelo had to be 160...even though Canelo won 160 at 155.

Agreed. You cant make this stuff up. Ward ducked Golovkin. B side has no say and Ward dipped out.

The Sergiy fight was very close but he was also close with Jacobs and his own trainer was training Jacobs. Ppl forget about that! I’ve always said Sergiy is not joke and not an easy out at all...Sergiy has to be a top 30 P4P. Or at least close.
Yeah I agree Sergiy is a threat to anyone. Styles make fights and he had the right style and attitude to really take the fight to Golovkin. He was a tough match up for Jacobs and he would be for Canelo also since Canelo isn't a very mobile boxer. A slick mobile boxer against him would be interesting. Don't know how he would handle that.
