Comments Thread For: The 2010s in the Rankings: The Top Twenty of the Decade - #15-11

Using the ratings of the published issues of Ring Magazine, and the archived ratings of the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB) since their debut in October 2012, and under the assumption they act as a reasonable gauge of the state of each of boxing's seventeen weight divisions over the last decade, a select group of fighters was evaluated with two questions in mind:

Let me just add some context regarding Vasily Lomachenko's undeserved ranking above Nonito Donaire : In 2015 Orlando Salidoe moved up to Super-feather, leaving Lomachenko to pick up a undeserved world-title ( WBO Featherweight championship ). Orlando would go on to face Rocky Martinez twice, in the rematch most felt that Salido clearly beat Martinez but was robbed ; Salido threw 1037 punches and nearly out-landed Martinez by 100 punches.

Therefore, had the judges rightfully awarded Orlando Salidoe the victory, what does Lomachenko's resume look like? Obviously that rules-out Rocky Martinez. So in conclusion, this is twice that Orlando has assisted Lomachenko in his overrated career.

Loma is tremendously skilled and deserves IMO to be ranked in the top 2 or 3 p4p fighters in the world. I think that he is this high with such few fights clearly shows his case for being #1 is just as strong as Crawford, Inoue, Canelo or Usyk.

I think Cliff's rating system places Loma right where he should be. Fans that love him tend to gerrymander the ranking of his competition. Clearly he is a great fighter but the notion he is an ATG is ridiculous at this stage.

Talk about a flawed system here, Garry Russel jr. was not included as Lomachenko's top wins based on this criteria predicated by divisional ranking -- OH WAIT, Garry Russel jr. was green and was not a top ten fighter. Another L for Bumchenko, HA!

Top 10 will include Ward, Golovkin, Canelo, Pac, Mayweather, Wilder, Crawford, Inoue for sure

The other two are tougher to predict. I think Bradley will be there. Maybe Estrada.

I thought he wrote earlier that none of the current top heavies (Wilder, Joshua, Fury) made the top 20.

I stand corrected then, I still think Wilder should make it just for defending his belt for 5 years. He was a big personality as well.
