DAZN offered to pay 20 mil Finkel said he'd get paid ALMOST the same, so not as much that's a good reason to fight on DAZN. If it makes money it makes sense and the DAZN offer would have made him more money and set up the Joshua.

No it's a horrible reason to fight on DAZN, because he would have lost all of his leverage with his current partners and had absolutely nothing to show for it as he still wouldn't have gotten the Joshua fight.

Wilder rejected the DAZN deal because it didn't make any sense to fight Breazeale on DAZN. It made more sense to go destroy Breazeale, see how Joshua looked in his next fight, and then negotiate for a Joshua fight.

Incase nobody noticed, Wilder is so overvalued at the moment (fury too), he would be in danger of bankrupting any promoter outside of perhaps Haymon himself. The smartest move from what I can see would have been to allow DAZN to take the risk, instead of slowly watching your stakeholders withdraw from your fighters fights because it just doesn't make financial sense anymore. If Fury and Wilder are earning a combined 50-60 million in their next fight, it's going need to sellout and do 800k-1m+ PPVs or once again, people are bleeding themselves dry? Both fighters are doing poorly in comparison to the amount of money they are demanding, I dread to think how much money ESPN has lost on Fury.

There was no reason to lock yourself into a price before seeing how you look in your next fight and how Joshua looked in his next fight.

The GENESIS from all this stems from 50/50 remember? If AJ did PPV on Showtime what was the PPV split? Even when Hearn transitioned from Sky to DAZN + Sky, Wilder’s team wouldn’t accept $100mil+ for three fights.

Well said. This is why Canelo’s deal is very respected. He is being well compensated for whatever other GLOBAL business DAZN tends to make. This is why Canelo held is ground to not fulfill GGG’s compensation on DAZN off of him, like GGG’s whole legacy waiting for stars at a lower class to move up. DAZN Global could strike bigger deals in the next years for other sports yet Canelo can’t benefit from those exponential earnings even if DAZN does another 800% rise by end of 2021 vs 2019. That’s all part of the game.
