    Joe Gans

Archie Moore never gets respect for his defense or footwork. He's the KO king for a reason. He is in position to drop your ass and he got there with his badass feets and deceptive upper body movement/cross-arm guard.

Who reading this thread has seen the foot work of all the great fighters of all time? Nobody including you. Foot work is an important part of boxing but I don't pay close attention to it. Boxing is fist fighting and I mainly watch a boxer's fist work. As another poster said Loma and Pacquiao both have great footwork. The best of all time? Probably not.

Manny’s main attribute is his hand speed and power. Mayweather’s is his upper body defense. Loma is always moving his feet to get “angles”. Never seen anyone who insists on only punching from an angle, Another noteworthy mention is Sugar Ray Leonard.

Manny had good speed of foot but not great footwork.

He only really displayed angles when he had static targets he could move around.

If anyone give him angles, like JMM and Floyd did, then Manny’s footwork was lacking. Even old Mosley could keep Manny from never finding any angles by simply keeping him turning.

Manny never had particularly skilled footwork or balanced. It was his clumsy jumping in footwork that got him put to sleep by JMM.

He doesn't have all-time great footwork. Nowhere near. You do understand what I'm saying right?

This is a great post. 100% accurate. Especially the Moseley part. Manny kept coming in straight lines. All he had to do was mix up his speed and cut the ring off but he couldn't figure that out.
