    Weak HW Class?

I keep seeing and hearing it said that the current crop of heavyweights is weak/thin/etc.

Some people say Wilder is one of the best, if not the best, heavyweight of all time. Others argue that he has lucked out with relatively soft opposition. That Tua and McCall — if not lesser chins of previous eras — would have been able to take his right hand, and entire game plan, out of a fight.

Some people say that Anthony Joshua, in spite of his loss, is the best of this generation — a real national treasure for GB — and a future lock for Canastota. Others say this era is so weak that his resume means very little, and he is just another overhyped Limey with a huge fan base.

Some people say that Tyson Fury is a true freak of nature — a giant with the skill set and movements of a Lomachenko or Mayweather. Others say that his resume is ridiculously overhyped, being little more than a win over a fading legend on a bad night and several tin cans knocked over.

    So, who is right?

Are our best heavyweights really that bad? Would they have been no-names had they fought in, say, the 1970s or 1990s?

Argue me why or why not you think so.

Let's be honest . . . Wilder would starch Ali out with one punch. There's no way the greats of the past could hang with the steroided up behemoths of today. It's all just nostalgia glasses ppl have when they talk about past fighters. They were good for their time, but it's a new era now and time to let the past go...

The heavyweight division has at least 8 olympians at once who won a mix of Bronze , Silver and gold ,it’s anything but weak . That’s unprecedented and a few international champions . Honestly those saying it’s weak don’t know boxing .

          Assuming he could find him.

The top 3 of today are good enough to be top 10 in any era, but as they are today, maybe not top 3.

I see all 3 of them struggling against Ali, Foreman and Frazier in their primes and Lewis, Tyson, and Holyfield. Perhaps Fury, with his height and awkward movement, would give some trouble. Do you think Joshua can run from Frazier when even Ali struggled? or can you see him taking shots from Foreman? or Shavers? or Mike? Will Wilder even be able to locate Ali in his prime before he knew what hit him? Ali would have schooled him more than Fury along with some power in his punches.

The division is weak. Wlad got old and the **** has risen to the top. If Wlad wasn't around 10 years ago that division would have been competitive too. No way someone as skill less as Wilder would be anywhere near a world title in the 90s.

You’re insinuating that Fury is more elusive than Ali which exposes you without a shadow of a doubt as a either a fool or a troll. Consider yourself ignored.
