I'd like to say that maybe if Smith had looked better in his last fight, he'd be more deserving and would've gotten the Canelo fight. But then again, Canelo usually picks people coming off of less than impressive performances so who knows. Either way this murota s*** is a joke. He's 4-2 in his last 6. Canelo will not be fighting anyone who is a legit threat. Golden Boy does not have an immediate successor to pay their bills. It could be Ryan but he has some fights to win.

Smith is crazy if he believes Canelo is taking the same level of risk as Floyd in the Money May years. Look at Floyds final 12 fights before McGregor many of them were killers coming off their career best wins. If not they were actual world champions. Most are clear Hall of Famers. Not a comparison at all. Fighter of the decade for a reason.
