These McGuigan’s have been stealing a living off fighters for long enough. It’s a short career and fighters need to think about themselves and their families. Shane McGuigan’s not getting in the ring and fighting. Josh Taylor owes the McGuigan’s nothing.

Fighters leave promoters all the time. Many leave disgruntled. Many have left Top Rank in this fashion, but that doesn’t mean the whole outfit is filled with crooks. Sometimes business just doesn’t work out.
Hell, he’s jumping to a promoter who has lost three of the biggest names in the sport over the course of the last 25 years in Oscar, Floyd, and Pacquaio.

Frampton was the cash cow but was making less than scott quigg by the time he paid all the McGuigans.
Taylor done the right thing.
Are the McGuigans so ****** to repeat the same error twice? How can we assume for sure that the fault lies only and exclusively on the McGuigan's side?
I am reminded of Don King stealing Tyson from Jacobs and Cayton. That was the beginning of the end for Iron Mike, and the grounds were the same: someone big convincing the fighter that he was being robbed of his money.Last edited by Tatabanya; 01-24-2020, 02:49 AM.

Cyclone clearly have a very dubious reputation and deserve to be scrutinized.
Both Frampton and Taylor seem genuine and likely acted to protect their interests.
Shane is a very good trainer, but Barry is proven snake when it comes to the business side.

Best thing to do would be to wait for details from the Frampton court case to see what dirt comes out on Mcguigan, Cyclone, if there is any.
Maybe Taylor spoke to Frampton (as someone he is close to) and realised he wasn't being paid what he felt he earned?
Could be as simple as that.
Blain, another one of Barry’s sons, was included on a Promotional agreement with Frampton. However it’s clearly known the promotion was done by Barry McGuigan.
Blain was added to that to cover the conflict of interest that arises through Barry McGuigan being both manager and promoter.
Cyclone promotions ltd was dissolved, and Frampton was made a director......making him liable for company’s debts....and ballifs did turn up
To his family home to recover 400k unpaid tax bill.
Just look at how many fighters cyclone promotions had and they all have jumped ship!
I remember Eddie Hearn said once Frampton paid every member of the McGuigan family their slice of the pie, Scott quigg would be getting the greater overall purse..... and he was bloody right!
And that is bloody sad because we were over in Manchester for that fight and you would
Have thought you were in belfast, The stadium must have been 20:1 Irish to Englishman, maybe more.

The court case hasn't been heard yet, it was set for January 20th but I haven't heard anything or can find anything about it through google searches.
I would like to see the court case summarised and someone in the know going over it in layman's terms lol

This is not the more professional way to handle a situation in all honesty but maybe it will turn out better for Cyclone. Josh Taylor seems like someone with demons and hisb ody may face sooner rather than later.
