Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Charlo's Handlers Turned Down 'Very Lucrative Offer' For Canelo Fight

Oscar De La Hoya has revealed that his promotional company attempted to make a Canelo Alvarez-Jermall Charlo fight for last May 4. According to De La Hoya, Charlo's handlers turned down "a very lucrative offer" to battle Alvarez in what would've been by far the biggest fight of the undefeated Charlo's career. That offer was made when Charlo was the WBC's interim middleweight champion and due a shot at Alvarez's WBC world 160-pound championship.

“We had an amazing, amazing offer for Charlo, a very lucrative offer for Charlo, and he turned it down,” De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV during an interview posted Tuesday to its YouTube page. “Well, Charlo didn’t turn it down, but his agent or whoever, whoever’s behind PBC, I don’t know.”

When asked how much money Golden Boy Promotions offered for Charlo to face Alvarez, De La Hoya replied, “I’m not gonna say the offer.”

    Yeah, umm...SUSPECT!

Why would he??? Because then that sets the bar for others who already want wayyyy to much.

They offered Sergiy $5.5 million and he turned it down because he wanted more or it to go to purse bid for 35%.

So it was at least $5.5 million.

And Hearn even tried getting Charlo for 1 fight and offered a sht ton! And never heard back.

Notice how Charlo is silent unlike Saunders when GGG team made it seem like he turned down $7.5??? He said *** NK not even close! Then we found out it was $1.5 Lemuix money...

Charlo turned down the biggest fight anyone could get in all of boxing.

He’s clearly ducking everyone, kidnapping a title and hoping to build his record to 60-0 against bums.

Hearn's 7-10 mil deal for Andrade has been confirmed. No one has confirmed the De La Hoya numbers. They could have low-balled him for multiple fight promo deal. or 1st low-ball offer like Kovalev got. Oscar looked high in that video anyway.

Stand by for a ton of incoming shit from Haymon boot lickers about low ball offers, multi fight options, loyalty, and ... "Why can't Jermall fight Triple L?"

Edit: Why should Jermall fight Canelo when Canelo won't fight Andrade?

                  Forgot that one ...

Ok, De La Hoya made a lucrative offer to Charlo but his handlers turned it down, yet he is not sure who his handlers are "Haymon or who ever he is" hmmm.
