That annoying Mayweather gets my vote. He is very good. His success is do to being very good and always being in top condition. Fighting good opponents but never someone quite good enough to beat him.

Sorry for bad spelling. Make that his success is due to him being very good and always in top condition for all his fights.

Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, George Saint Pierre... There is more to fighter than just boxer. I would say what Johnson has done over such a long span of time fighting in MMA is far more impressive. MMA has a higher ceiling in terms of skill so remaining with only 3 losses and winning the big one... Yep, definitely not Mayweather, wouldn't argue with people picking Pacquiao for the entertainment factor and for how long he has been seeking big fights even in his 40's.

This is NSB so I assumed the thread means best boxer.

Comparing a boxer's and an mma fighter's accomplishment/skill in their respective sport is kinda like comparing a tennis player and a badminton player.

          Completely different sport.

He wouldn’t be my pick for the 00’s, or 10’s as individual decades but over the course of 20 years it has to be Mayweather. The fact that he beat his main rival for this hypothetical award decisively makes it very hard not to elect him the best fighter of the last 20 years.

None of them 3 even come close... Jon Jones really?😂😂

I love might mouse but the calibre of his competition is nowhere near the level that Floyd and Pac consistently fought.

MMA doesn’t have a higher ceiling in terms of skill either. Brock Lesnar (who I’m a huge fan of) won a HW title within 4 fights. I think that says it all. It’s much harder to reach elite level in boxing.

... given the "situation", two decades may add more perspective, right...

                    Floyd Mayweather easily.

Pacquiao ducked him back in 2009 otherwise he would have won back-to-back Fighter of the Decade awards.
