I'm sort of conflicted on this. At one point I cheered for T-Rex but the talk and schtick wore on me. I think part of the problem is that women's boxing is so devoid of both talent and personality that some feel the need to be loud with their antics and try to get attention...even if it means playing the heel.
Shields fight with Hammer was supposed to be some collision course of stars. A competitive matchup or some controversy could have yielded a rematcg. Hammer provided absolutely no competition whatsoever to provide any drama. The closest type of adversity we have had in a Shields fight was when Gabriels dropped her but Shields still won that fairly easily IMO.
The best kind of media attention is when the fights sell themselves. That just isn't the case in women's boxing at the moment, so if you want to do more than fight in the banquet Hall of a Midwest Comfort Inn for peanuts, you end up calling out champs that have been retired for over a decade.

I’d say she’s the single most dislikable personality in boxing.
And not even enjoyably dislikable.
I’d say khans up there, but even he has some entertaining fights (although that time has passed)
Broner is another one, all the talent but no application or desire to do anything outside of make money.

I don't mind Shields but this isn't a good look. Ali been retired for how many years now? Ignore her and conquer the active boxers that are your competition. I don't mind confidence and a bit of brash but there's a thin line between coming off confident and just deluded.

Man, she IS so unlikeable. And then, as "skilled" as she is, she didn't get a single knockdown on any of these fools until her last fight. At least with Broner, Khan, or some other loudmouth fools, they are often exciting in the ring. Everytime I've watched her I'm like...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Women’s boxing won’t have a future for another decade or so. The next generation of fans will be less ignorant than us just as we are less ignorant than our fathers. There are still too many sexist, racist pigs who won’t let females work out the kinks without taking a **** all over their progress. You’re all driving women to MMA. That’s a damn shame because women’s MMA is awesome now.Last edited by TheMyspaceDayz; 01-20-2020, 01:11 PM.

Like GGG Jacobs sold itself, interesting back story.
Like Kovalev Ward sold itself.
Like Spence Porter sold itself.
Like Loma Rigo sold itself.
Even Wilder Fury sold itself.
You can't sell a fight on skill alone. Not so easy
