Kind of proves the point as to why fighters fight championship level fights 2 or 3 times a year. If Kovalev came back soon to fight a journeyman or someone way outside the top 10, then you guys may have a point. But there's a reason why we don't see a quick turn around when you fight at that level, especially against one of the best fighters in the sport, despite him coming up in weight.

Fishy? Kinda like how GGG went from Mexican Style to Nothing But Scared Jab Style against Canelo? Or Jacobs who wanted to jab and not commit to big punches against Canelo. All these guys went jab happy, and got backed up by the smaller Canelo. GGG went back to looking like a killer against Vanes then months later the same year after begging Canelo for a Mexican Style fight tapped out a Mexican Style fight. Literally got the Mexican Style beat out him. It's simple canelo is that good and makes these big huge punchers fight scared. Happened to GGG,Jacobs not just Kovalev. Even Fielding and Chavez much bigger men then canelo fought scared not letting big shots go. If you commit to big shots you open yourself up to big counters from Canelo.

Oh shut up, you nonce. We all know the score; a quick turnaround from being out on his feet against Yarde, dehydrated & weakened i.e. a perfect victim for the ginger cabbage patch doll.

you gotta go back 60 yrs to find a comprable scenario. Lmaooooo. Canelo is an opportunist and loves fighting old guys. end of story. You think he would've fought the version of Kovalev that was knocking pascal all around the ring? Hell nah

What does it matter how far back one goes? The point is that real fighting men can do a one month turn around. A 10 week turn around should be nothing.

“In that fight, it was just a light jab and he was trying to survive more than he was trying to win." E Alvarez just described how the majority of Canelo's opponents look against him vs other fighters. His trademark is making opponents uncharacteristically tentative like they're looking to stay busy with arm punches, because he's difficult to catch clean and is ready to make you pay for opening up. In addition, he has an excellent chin so even if you manage to tag him it often has little effect and he's ready to come back with a counter just the same. There are always excuses after the fact though, either people saying his opponents jabs should be worth equal to a power punch or that his opponent wasn't physically or mentally there for some reason. Never mind that his previous opponent Jacobs was equally tentative.

Btw, Canelo had been willing to fight Kovalev coming off his win over E Alvarez but team Kovalev couldn't make it work from their end.

Nah real men would aim to fight a top fighter from their own age bracket. Not a run down old man who was clearly damaged goods. There was no shortage of top undefeated champions from 160-175. Canelo picked the oldest and most damaged one. King of minimizing risk.

I was yelling on the forums that Canelo would get Kovi out by the 5th round
And Garcia just disgusted me with his non chaland performance
I really thought that Garcia saw something he could exploit and to my surprise it was his paycheque
But brother , if Canelo really wanted to make a statement at light heavyweight or for his legacy , he would of had a go with another champ
I think his only chance would be against Bivol but nope , he was gone faster than when he won the belt
We all knew Canelo was gonna go back down in weight if he beat Kovalev. Canelo ISN'T a light heavyweight and he don't belong in that division so why would he fight Bebertiev??? It was just a way for him to get another title in a fourth division. If you think he went after the easiest champ in the division well your entitled to your opinion. But at the end of the day he still accomplished his goal which was to earn a fourth title. No difference from when Roy Jones went up to heavyweight to beat Ruiz for the heavyweight title. Canelo is still young and has allot more to accomplish still. But so far he's accomplished WAY MORE than other current fighters his age have... That's a fact!
And at the beginning you gave to responses but to what????
Were you impressed with Spence beating Mikey??? Cause i was disappointed he didn't beat Mikey by K.O the way Canelo beat Kovalev....
