It’s not enough time for an old battle worn fighter to fully recover for a fight against someone good like Canelo. He probably could have beaten Yarde again in the same manner in 10 weeks but Canelo is genuinely elite.

Look how much good a long layoff can do. Amir Khan’s chin recovered so much from Canelo’s punch that he was able to stay conscious for long enough to quit vs Crawford. Nobody saw that coming.

Maybe next time the porridge will be just right.
Canelo wanted to fight Kovalev in Sept which would of given Kovalev a extremely long amount of time to train. Kovalev turned it down wanted to fight Yarde and then fight canelo in Nov so he could make more money because his promoter signed him to ****** deals that had many enti ties digging in his pockets if he Side stepped Yarde. Getting Yarde out the way meant more money for him.

Guaranteed if he didn't fight Yarde the excuse would been we all know long layoffs are bad for Kovalev he drinks in between fights and spends half his training camp cleaning out his system of vodka and bad weight he puts on. Kovalev, his promoter, his trainer and all his fans said quick turnaround to go into training camp was an advantage and means he will be shaper because no time for bad habbits before training camp. But now we got excuses cause he lost. He would of lost either way in Sept or Nov and he has excuses after every loss in his career. LMAO

Should we also start using purses that boxers used to get compared to today or are we going to use relevant scenarios to prove a point?

Of course Kovalev looked different, it was a scripted fight. I believe the knock down was real with help from Kovalev. Kov throwing pity pat jabs instead of his usually power jabs and hardly any right hands. It looked fishy from the get go.

Kovalev's age of 36, the grueling fight with Yarde, and the 10 weeks to prepare have all been brought up as excuses.

So I think it's very relevant to point out that a 43 year old man took a standing 8 count in a loss but still came back to fight and win a month later.

Moore lost by UD to a boxer with a record of 21-5 then came back a month later to win against an opponent with a record of 35-6.
