Canelo got better fights to come in the future, not really sweating it.

Tbh, I would've loved to have seen Canelo KO Sergio Martinez earlier in the decade, but Martinez wasn't about that life. Cintron was 29 when he fought old ass Martinez in 2009. Then two years later Canelo puts on a beating on 31 year old Cintron. This is the same Cintron that boxed a good fight with Martinez to a draw and industry were crying robbery because of the count to 9 and confusion. Look at Jack Reiss yelling at Monroe Jr. at the 10 count (for GGG), ''you just beat it, you just beat it.'' Same Jack Reiss that gave Fury a 10 count. Fans don't talk about those things.

The Canelo fight beating Cintron is one of Canelo's most underrated fights imo. Good karma to come for MExican Beast!

He took a year off during that timeframe. Fought Cotto 5/5/12, didnt fight again until Guerrero on 5/4/13.

He was neither Regular nor Super, you dolt. He was simply the WBA champion. It's above the Regular title but not yet defended enough times to be called "Super". His previous WBA title reign was an interim and then Regular title, but the second time around he was full champion.

So? He still had at least one fight in six consecutive calendar years, not counting the McGregor or Tenshin sideshows.

The standards of being an FOTD dropped significantly I agree. The last FOTD had to climb 10 weight classes, win 7 of them and become lineal for 4 of them while winning the FOTY 3 straight years.

While the current FOTD only has to fight half the decade.
