BWAA...in 2020 is made up of a lot of glorified bloggers with their own inherent bias. There are very few "writers" for this sport, only paid paid shills who have very tribal biases towards their favorite fighters or promoters. Many of whom have agendas. Let's face it, this was more of an honorary award, like a life time achievement award that they give at the Academy Awards.

If you include the McG fight, then 8 fights from 2010-2017. That's
      7 years.
The award is for fighter of the DECADE, which is 10 years.
His resume is what it is, but my argument is him only "fighting" techinically 4 years out of the decade because he took almost 3 years off in that span.
      2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

      Can you count?

If 2 fights in basically 4.5 years earns you a fighter of the DECADE, then damn the bar is low! Throw in the fact that the Pac fight was 3-5 years too late and I cant see him being awarded this honor. But, to each their own.
Dude you're trying to hard. Floyd won FOTY 2x during the decade. No one else won that many. He gave other fighters 4 years to win the award multiple times and they couldn't do it.

Put it this way, you can win MVP of a league and not play every game, right?

Or it was awarded to the only fighter that won the FOTY award multiple times during the decade, same as it was last decade.

So he fought in 6 years of the decade. 7 if you include McGregor.

2016, 2018 and 2019 were the only years he didn't fight.
And he beat the other 2 candidates in the ring

Hey don't be like that I congratulated Floyd.
But for sure I won't talk about Floyd in future if I can help it and certainly I won't post more than one post in a thread if at all possible.
I will be respectful to fotd and give praise now.

That's a good point, I won't argue that. But, I think you'd have to go back and ask that decade of BWAA members what their primary criteria was when awarding Manny FOTD. Of course that doesn't negate or reveal the bias for either fighter.

Not sure your last point has merit based upon boxing. He fought 2 times a year, sometimes. Missed almost 3 years during that time, then fought McG in a "fight". I just dont buy it. Cong**** to him though. He's a good fighter.

I think it's pretty clear the multiple FOTY awards made him FOTD. Manny won FOTY back to back 08 and 09 when Floyd was retired. He also won in 06, Floyd in 07. That gave him 3 in the decade. Other than that he had 1 loss and 2 draws while Floyd went undefeated.

Floyd also was in the highest grossing fight ever (up to that point) and had some other big wins.
