Povetkin is one of the best HWs of the last 12 years. He has a lot of experience. Yeah he got caught cheating twice but he still has a pretty good resume of names on it. Klitschko & Joshua the 2 to beat him, although one could say he might have lost the Huck fight.

He's beaten Donald, Byrd, Chambers, Chagaev, Huck, Rahman (Washed Up), Charr, Takam, Mike Perez, Wach, Duhaupas (1 day notice), Rudenko, Hammer, Price, Hughie Fury & a draw with Hunter.

Hall of fame resume? He has a gold medal but I think he falls short. He was a solid top 10 HW for a dozen years. No elite wins but he defeated 3 former world champions but 2 of them were near the end. His best win is over Chagaev. A lot of fringe contenders from the past & present. 0-2 in his title fights. He was a secondary champion not a true World Champion. I think the Whyte fight will be very exciting. Whyte can go 12 when he is in proper shape & Povetkin has had stamina issues in the past so this is a 50/50 fight.

The pressure is on Whyte because Povetkin is 40 & if he can't beat him at this stage of Sasha's career than it is highly unlikely he gets to the next level. Povetkin is the old warrior sticking around long enough to cash a few more checks. You have to beat Povetkin to get to the next level.

Povetkin couldn't KO a cruiserweight. Its a mismatch at this stage. I would love to see Whyte against someone who has power or speed.

Povetkin does have power and speed in spurts. Michael Hunter is a strong, fast, talented young man, Hunter and Whyte are two opposite fighters.
