That fight makes zero sense, Helenius was destroyed by Washington and Kownacki already stopped Washington. helenius is an easy KO win for Kownacki.

Helenius beat Chisora, but that was 8 years ago.

Kownacki should fight Breazeale.

But the real tests for him would be Dubois, Parker, Whyte, Povetkin.

It doesn't seem like Kownacki's team has a whole lot of confidence in him since they chose the lesser of two opponents. When will he be ready for Wilder? My guess is never. I figure they will hand pick opponents he is expected to beat until he gets in position to fight for a title, then he will be cashed out.

Kownacki takes way too many punches to fight Wilder. His brain would turn to jello

Hammer can’t punch , Helenius is a better fighter then Hammer and can punch . Hammer is a basic punching bag to work over,with Helenius you get almost a guaranteed knockout either way .

Kind of how I see it. I am not as down on this as most. Kownacki is still not a name, so a few more of these types of gatekeeper bouts seem likely. I prefer Helenius over Hammer or Breazeale. At least Helenius will throw leather until something dramatically definitive happens.

Helenius is kind of like Marius Wach I guess, dangerous at times but not quite on a top level without the durability factor . Would be interesting to see if Kownacki can take a Helenius power shot , I saw Martin had stunned him a few times .

I won't be surprised if this fight is a WBA eliminator. Povetkin & Hunter the WBA #7 & #8 contenders just battled to a draw. Henenius & Kownacki are the #3 & #6 so it makes sense. I got Kownacki by stoppage...
