How do boxing reporters make money?

I'm talking about the youtube channels not the ones that work for a promotion like crystina poncher with TR and that one blonde pbc chick that does post fight interviews.
I'm talking about like fighthub marcos villegas (i know he does the unofficial scorecard on pbc) but im talking before he got that gig. Same with radio raheem, dontaes black nation etc.
I mean those dudes must spend alot going to the fight whether its a plane ride or by car, getting passes, hotel, cameras etc. Like danm who the hell is paying these dudes

Those aren’t reporters. Reporters work for a publication and get paid a salary. YouTube personalities make money from YouTube ads.

Very hard to make a living as a boxing journalist, which is why boxing journalism is so much more corrupt than other forms of journalism. A lot of boxing journalists rely on promoters to fly them, house them, feed them, etc because their publications don't want to spend money on boxing coverage.

Boxing Reports don't make SH#T why do you think, Eddie Hearn and other promoters pay to fly them out and put them in nice hotels to cover their events. Like Chris Mannix you better cover other sports and have multiple jobs because covering boxing seems like it would SUCK and you really don't work that much

As for Youtube Boxing Commentators or whatever you call them, it really depends on the Views they get for their videos I guess

I keep remind people on this forum that as much as I personally love the sport...in the REAL WORLD Boxing is not that popular so Articles on boxing don't get much views and neither does most of these boxing channels on youtube in comparison to those who cover other more popular sports

Guys like Chris Mannix, Rafael, Iole etc are on staff for one of the majors and make more money on the side writing for other publications too. Between broadcasting and writing, Mannix is making over six figures.

But Youtube people? They're not boxing writers, they're bloggers/vloggers. Sharing their opinions just like us, except they're trying to make money at it. Some really get paid (Eli Seckbach apparently banks), but the majority of even popular channels are making less than 10k a year.
