Where were you 8th, 9th?Comment

Point being it looks like you probably got a x3 and a x2 remaining... ain't got time to do the updating today I think but I should be able to get it done tomorrow. Seems to me you're in with a real good shot at the title man...Comment

You don't lose the x3 you put on Ennis, man... ND renders picks null and void, same as if the fight had been cancelled late or something, although I'm noting that ain't made clear on the OP rules page... I'll have to get that updated.

Tanaka vs Ioka being a really close fight, makes the finish really suspenseful.Comment

Mmmm. Don't think I'd make it a requirement, but I'd be quite happy for any players who wished to do so to just post in the thread saying "PICKS SENT TO CREW" or somesuch I guess.Comment

Hadn't given any thought to secret picks, no. What you mean like PMing your picks to the CREW account or something?

I think knowing what the others pick can be used as an advantage.
Luckily, tanaka vs ioka is a 50/50 fight, but in a fight where the winner is guaranteed, I could just pick the same method and smash a 3x multiplier on it and could close the gap by at least 40 points.
Either
X gets: 20 points and I: 60 => 40 points profit
Or
X gets: 30 points and I: 90 / +60
Or
X gets: 40 points and I: 120 / +80Comment

(I know this likely won't fly on bsn but its still a cool idea(theres nothing illegal about it,as they're donations & its essentially a raffle, you can even donate part proceeds to charity, I'm sure everyone on here would be fine with whatever mods account holds the money)Comment

Whats happening playa,I have an idea for next years pickem, everyone on the board can deposit "donations" to a PayPal account to make the prize pool bigger,& if they don't they can only win the standard boxing scene prize.(I of course would be happy to hold the funds)

Now then yeah, this is an idea which crops up every year in one form or another and there's always some discussion but then it never actually takes off. Far as I'm concerned I'm absolutely cool with it so as long as it's voluntary and the game itself remains free and open to all.
In terms of how it's set up I'd say it's up to those who throw in their money, but the most obvious and fairest would seem to be for everyone who wishes to participate to throw in a set amount to a pot - work out some kinda escrow maybe with a trusted member (my first thought would be Eff Pandas if he's willing) - then the pot goes to the highest scoring player who put into the pot - standard sweepstakes kinda thing.
In terms of organisation though, whilst I'd happily participate (so long as the stake ain't too high - I ain't rich -) and co-operate in making it happen I don't want to be the one actually setting it up given 1) the workload I got already and 2) potential conflict of interest given that I got a lot of control over the game already in terms of fight selection and so on. Also of course it'd have to be an entirely private arrangement between the participants with no liability attached to myself or - I would have to assume - the Scene.
All of which reminds me though I need to get a discussion thread going for the 2021 season and get the final Pick Em thread up for the last 4 fights... gonna be a nailbiting finish this year by the looks.Comment
