What IF Kovalev had said, “I want Canelo, I dare him to fight me.” And Canelo didn’t.

They got him on the hook and waited to see how he did against Yarde before they brought him in the boat. I don't even like Kovalev. I've always thought he was arrogant and disrespectful of John David before the Ward fights and the subsequent split. He was at odds with Sanchez and effectively got kicked out of his gym. He got a well deserved loss but it wasn't a monumental achievement for Canelo. It was a good win but nothing more.

well, Golovkin's last fight was a good win for Derevyanchenko

the guy who just lost to Jacobs

not really the kind of performance that Golovkin needed if he wants to continue begging for a fight with Canelo

“Backed”? Not sure what that means, but I picked him to win. I mean, cmon...how many times throughout boxing history does the guy on the slide in the back half of his 30s beat the young prime fighter? Not to mention canelo was the clear cash cow. Both fights proved that canelo would get the decision if it was reasonably close.

The truth is, Kovalev would have never called out Canelo while he was "Krushing" just about everyone. He was much too big and likely wasn't even thinking about him. Canelo waited until Kovalev had lost 3 of his recent 7 fights before calling him out. Saul's nut huggers like to say that him facing Sergey at that point was somehow a great fete, but everyone knows that the "Krusher's" best days were behind him when they fought. He took that ass whipping and cashed out.

That doesn't make sense. Derev vs Golovkin was for a title. Derev was rated as high as the #3 Middleweight in the world. Loeffler said they would fight further up the road for more money after Golovkin was stripped. That's exactly what happened. I see by your comments you haven't been following boxing very long or you are an idiot.
