If he doesn't to surgery his achille will be subject to repeated rupture in the future.

Sounds like he just decided not to pay $$$ for operation which cost would be a half of his last future payday.

Out drinking that night , once home fell asleep and woke up in extreme pain
                My leg was fughin green
Went to the hospital and they told me I had broken my patella bone
Three months in a brace and another three months before I felt comfortable with it
One of the most painful pains I have ever felt
Yeah it’s very painful! Only thing that’s so bad is they are telling me that they have a patella replacement but the success of it working is pretty low. Also a small area under my patella is damaged and they don’t have good success with getting cartilage to regrow. Right now I’m stuck taking 2 part knee injections every other week, now that really bites!
Hope your knee is good. It’s almost inspirational to here you say that yours was ok in 6 months! If that’s not true; please don’t tell me 😒

Brother , I’ve never felt pain like that
I recall waking up with tears in my eyes
I just wanted to cut the fughin leg off
But yeah , no word of a joke , once they get it fixed , your leg will start feeling good in about two months
I drive stick and the leg was ok to go after a month
Not sure about your cartilage problem , but you’ll be ok real soon if they fix the patella properly
Six months because I was always fixated how I easily got hurt
Slowly but surely once the leg starts moving again and you start building your muscle you’ll be good as new
Good luck , let me just say I know what your feeling
And if I’m not mistaken the patella bone is the smallest bone in our body

Why do idiots think you need surgery for everything? Like the body doesn’t know how to heal itself.

I didn't even know this was possible. I saw my friend tear his while playing basketball and it looked horrible. They had to reattach it and his calf muscle was the size of a 10-year-old's for months while he rehabbed it to match the other.
