Surgical re-attachment and extended recovery is required. I dont know what injury Gamboa suffered but it was not a ruptured ac tendon. Gamboa would not have even walked on that injury much less boxed. That story is being passed around probably to discredit Davis's victory.

Partial rupture is still called a rupture as it has many smaller straws.
He had rupture but it might heal without surgery, failed wikiman.
