HBO did everything the hardcore boxing fan wanted. Look at what happened

They gave the smaller weight classes prime time slots with the best fighting the best. They built up fighters who can't speak English and who fans couldn't pronounce their names. Tried to make them the face of the sport. They ****ted on Canelo in order to raise the profile of these guys. The same way they did Floyd. Their commentating during the fights sounded like something you'd read on boxing forums. Lampley even credited Lee Wylie ffs!!!! Created a show, the fight game, where that spent the majority of the time ****ting on the sport and the most popular boxer at the time.

HBO did everything you hardcore boxing idiots wanted and it failed!!!!

And the hardcores ate it up!!! They loved when HBO would **** on Canelo over GGG. hardcore fans are idiots and if you do what they want to do you'll go out of business just like HBO. Hardcores cheered when HBO severed ties when Haymon. The guy who controlled most of the top names in the sport. Dumb asses

HBO pandered to their stars the last bunch of years putting in mismatch after mismatch. PBC took that formula and ran with it. At least HBO gave us some decent PPV matchups worth paying for like Ward-Kovakev and Canelo-GGG the last couple years

PBC thinks you're gonna pay for Wilder-Ortiz and Tank-LSC

People are ****** though, they know that much.

they let golovkin fight patsies and made ward move up....even paid ward like 1.5 for a sparring session with brand just to get him away to fight kovalev...meanwhile they let golovkin fight dom wade and kell brook(after crapping on canelo for khan)...

i absolutely love what ward did with the brand fight...he didnt need that for anything....he had been out of the game and missed some paydays and they knew hbo was trying to make sure he stayed away from golovkin so he was like "ok u know what im gonna tax you"....they paid ward for a sparring sesh on tv just to protect golovkin/canelo...i guess it was a smart move?! eh

They refuse to realize HBO did everything they wanted them to go and it failed. Their way of thinking is how you kill the sport

If your way works why did HBO fail? They got rid of Haymon. He's a cancer to the sport according to you guys. They showcased fighters from the smaller weights. They tried to elevate GGG over Canelo and Kovalev over Ward. They said Floyd was the problem with the sport.

Everything HBO did appealed to hardcore boxing idiots and there wasn't enough of you idiots to keep it going.

Not sure of any of the specifics.

Is it possible that they did good business for years before getting new ownership and moving into other things?

They were the gold standard for a sports broadcast though.
