Remember when DAZN came into boxing promising to put an official end to PPVs? They even had a fight promo showing Canelo and Daniel Jacobs smashing a machine with PPV logo on it.
But in reality, PPV flourished this year:
Wilder vs. Ortiz ll = 275,000 buys
Spence vs. Porter = 350,000 buys
Pacquiao vs. Thurman = 500,000 buys
Crawford vs. Khan = 150,000 buys
Spence vs. Garcia = 360,000 buys
Pacquiao vs. Broner = 400,000 buys
TOTAL = 1,940,000 buys, $145,480,600
A whopping $145M was made just off of PPV’s this year alone. How much did DAZN generate from their subscribers or lack there of? There are more huge PPV’s lined up for 2020 as well, Wilder vs. Fury ll, Davis vs. Lomachenko, Davis vs. Santa Cruz, Spence vs. D. Garcia, Pacquiao vs. Porter, Spence vs. Crawford, Wilder vs. Fury lll. RIP IN PEACE DAZN.
