Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis: Of Course Loma Would Fight Me; I'm The Cash Cow

ATLANTA Gervonta Davis should've made an important move Saturday night toward securing one of the most anticipated showdowns in boxing. By winning the WBA's world lightweight title, Davis should've become the mandatory challenger for that sanctioning organization's "super" lightweight champion, Vasiliy Lomachenko. Baltimore's Davis already was the WBA's No. 1 challenger for Lomachenko's championship, one spot ahead of second-ranked Yuriorkis Gamboa, whom Davis stopped in the 12th round at State Farm Arena.

I get it now. DAVIS is an acronym for Delusional And Very Ignorant Sportsman.

If the fight were to happen today and I love Gervonta Davis but I believe Loma would take him. First of all, Tank didn't bring his power up with him to this new weight class of a 135 lbs. He even struggled to hurt and put away a 45 year old, weak and feeble Yuriorkis Gamboa with a torn Achilles heel. Moreover, Gamboa ate most of the power punches that Gervonta landed that mostly put smaller fighters away more quickly than Yuriorkis Gamboa.

Well put. I wasn’t impressed with Davis at 135, for the reasons you just stated. I know he wasn’t in his best shape and all, but the power issue isn’t likely to change. I think any of the top guys at lightweight take him, Loma especially.

              Couple of things:
              1) Vasili Lomachenko will absolutely MAUL the Gervonta Davis that showed up Sat nite
              2) It was supposed to be Davis' coming out party and he's not even disciplined enough to make weight
              3) Davis was basically a Welterweight Sat nite and still struggled against a 55y/0 one legged has been with a glass chin
              4) Like Floyd did with Pac, he'll wait until Loma's best days are behind him before he comes near making this fight
              5) Lomachenko will absolutely MAUL the Gervonta Davis that showed up Sat nite.

Lomachenko would cancel his fight with Teofimo in a heartbeat to fight you for a paycheck

That would be a great fight to see don't you think? I'd rather see Loma vs Davis instead of Teofimo wouldn't you?
