Comments Thread For: Nathan Gorman Hungry To Bounce Back Strong in 2020

Nathan Gorman believes everything happens for a reason. His sole professional setback in June against Daniel Dubois resulted in him taking himself out of the boxing bubble and focussing his mind solely on family matters. Prior to the heavyweight blockbuster at the o2 Arena, Gorman had to contend with the distress of his young son falling ill and then the not altogether straightforward birth of his daughter as he entered fight week.

I agree. All he needs to do, is stop moving in slow motion, grow some real punching power, and strengthen his chin, and he'll bounce back nicely.

Yes, his physique and lack of urgency suggests he's always the wrong kind of 'hungry'. A major overhaul is required but at least the guy has talent, he just has to get serious about things.

I believe Nathan could boost his confidence with a few low key fights in mainland Europe or Scandinavia over the next 6-8 months.

Gorman can say whatever he wants about the fight. From what I have seen of Dubois so far he looks like a potential world class fighter (Still needs to prove if he is a contender or a David Price) whereas Gorman looks domestic level or possibly european level. Gorman needs to fight a guy like Molina or Wach & show what he is made of. Both those guys are on the decline & would be good opponents to see what level he is really at. Heck he should fight David Price, David Allen or maybe Lucas Browne.

I only saw him in that one fight with Dubois and he looked clueless, totally overmatched. A lot more development needs to happen before he is at that level.

Seems like a level headed kid but at best he's Euro/ potential gatekeeper level .. that's the reality.. at least he's a proper fighter that will never pad his record out with " padders" and " negative " records ..

Oh Jesus, Hughie Fury 2.0 has popped his Homer Simpson head back though the tarmac with a barrel full of excuses bigger than his belly, he was an absolute embarrassment against Dubois.

He needs to stick to bolt cutting gates so his family can illegally set up camp and robbing scrap metal from building site’s.

He fought the perfect fight for Dubois that night, and didn't show the best of him. That being said, I have no doubts about whether his best version of himself is a real match for Dubois either.
