Canelo did not beat kovalev

Even though I didn't watch the fight, I never ever would have thought Canelo would win by knockout. It's easy to think that if one of them were to win by knockout, it would be Kovalev. So even though I'm not saying this fight was fixed, I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

At the same time, it could also have to do with everything from his previous fight up until that point. Plus, he's no doubt getting older, so all of that could play a factor.

The fight wasn’t fixed exactly. I mean that Kovalev tried the best he could with what he had that night, just what he had wasn’t much. With a few more weeks to rest and no contractual shenanigans with weight and I think he probably wins it. As it was he was only a couple rounds shy of winning it anyway.

If you watch Kovalev's IGs, and interviews in Russian... he says it clearly, he did what he did for his family. He could not pass up a Canelo payday and I am fairly positive he knew he would be losing it.

And Canelo did just time him quite well when he had the chance.

I don't believe Kovalev was in the fight to brutally destroy Canelo to begin with.

Canelo was a 5 to 1 betting favorite so his win over Kovalev was not an upset but the result most expected. Just one FISHY looking performance by Kovalev. No doubt Kovalev was really KOed. Canelo hit him with two very hard punches that really knocked him out. It was Kovalev's very light punching the entire fight that makes the fight look so suspect.

Exactly. They keep bringing up the KO. But it was Kovalev’s lack of any visible attempt to really hurt Canelo and throwing tappy jabs from the opening bell that is the actual issue, and why people are calling it “fixed”.
