I was high on Ajagba. I thought he struggled with some adversity in his last fight against the Turkish Olympian. Obviously, it's a little alarming he continued to get countered and caught (and hurt) by Kiliazde. I still think he can clean up his defense and vary his offense a little more...let's hope he uses this as a learning experience. He still got the win but he can't take those bad tendencies with him in the future.

Kiladze put on huge pounds of muscle and was at his heaviest was able to absorb some shots and cause a bit of trouble but Wilder was saved by the bell against a guy half of Kiladze size in his 13th fight so how are you guys gaging a fighter getting knocked down ? It’s almost like you guys don’t realize these punches do damage ?
What the fight does show is Hrgovic ,Joyce and DDD are the front runners no doubt For title shots next year to be front runners not including guys like Whyte ,who’s that poster saying Efe would kill Hrgovic to me ?

Ajagba needs a better trainer and/or better sparring partners who will teach him the skills (or sweet science) of boxing...positioning, leg movement, variety of shots, upper body movement, etc.
He is a great prospect ...build, height, reach, athletic but it won't take him places without the necessary skills. This time around, I thought he got too comfortable particularly when Kilzade wobbled. Ajagba let him get his bearings and come to his senses instead of taking advantage and finishing him off. Like previous fights, he might be thinking that the referee is gonna come in and stop it.
But as they say, you have to protect yourself at all times. Ajagba relaxed and wasn't expecting much opposition. This is a brutal gladiator sport, no time for showing gentlemanly behavior like that. He should have gone for the kill. His inexperience also showed given he's been boxing as a pro for just 2 years and was previously a football player.

I like Ajagba, but he is not ready for top 20 guys. If Kiladze on shaking legs dropped him, imagine what would Chisora, Whyte, even Breazeale do to him.

As a fighter, you have to try as much as possible to put the ref in that awkward position of stopping the fight prematurely. If Ajagba had rushed in while Kiladze did that snake dance, the ref would have stopped it. And let's not mistake a rush in in this case to that of Joshua/Ruiz. Here, Kiladze was clearly hurt.
Wilder puts refs in the aforementioned awkward position even though all he did after the hurt were wild swings/misses (e.g': vs Washington). Ajagba needs to learn that (not the wild swings, but I guess you got the point).
Also, Ajagba needs to put on a new face whenever he goes for the finish (refs tend to notice), but then he wears a pokerface all through a fight.

... right, Ajagba is stiff as fuck... but he's only 25 1/2 yo...
... now: when Wilder was at that age he was only fighting guys like:
- Harold Sconiers (17 20 2);
- Dan Sheehan (11 38 0)...
WTF???
