Cotto-Thurman would have been a hell of a fight. Probably pick Cotto by split-decision.

Cotto was an incredible body puncher and I think he would catch Porter to the body.
Man, I'm a yuuuge Cotto fan, but as strong and determined and rough as Porter is when he's using that Energizer Bunny swarm style, it doesn't look like easy work to me. That said, imo it all depends on how much can Sean take of what Miguel dishes out, because you know Cotto is gonna' land beautiful shots, singly and in combination and often.

Does Porter overwhelm Cotto with pressure before Cotto does too much damage? Imo that's the question here.

When we talk about Cotto being "overwhelmed" can we look at the Margarito fights for a precident? Im torn on that one...On the one had we had the first fight gloves situation, we have differences in Margarito and Porter, on the other hand, Porter and Margarito depend on dishing out punishment, being relentless, and eventually overcoming any technical skills that are not good enough to stop them.

Just because it gives us some measure of comparison lets look at a near prime Margarito, with advantages, and lets look at how Cotto was able to deal with, or not deal with the situation. This is a strange scenario because of the loaded gloves!

I think Cotto almost won that fight despite the handicap...Cotto refused to clinch, which cost him dearly. With that said, I am of the opinion that Margarito was/is more relentless, yet not as much of a threat, as Porter. Porter is faster, and has faster feet. Margarito is more unorthodox and relentless.

I would say that based on his battle with Margarito, Cotto could handle Porter's relentless attack...Also, straight punches will always get there first in a tie. Porter is a "looper." But of course you never know and I can see arguments for Porter.

The legend Miguel Cotto vs Danny Swift Garcia wouldve been a dope fight, boss $h1t w/ MC winning

Junito would also school Porter, CrawFart yet suffered vs a prime Pacquiao like I don't think Cotto does great against a prime Thurman who before his Spence ducking was unbeatable & pre-crash Errol destroys Miguel
