After seeing how Spence handled Mikey Garcia I'm not so sure.
I know, I know, Cotto is waaaay better at 147 and much more powerful, however their height and reach is similar and I could see Errol causing problems if he elects to box from distance. Also, Spence brings stamina and a high work rate like Antonio Margarito (without the plaster) and I could see that being an issue too. Either way it would be a great fight.

There was a time when most if not all (except for me) people in the boxing community considered Bradley the third best welterweight in the world behind Mayweather and Pacquiao. Yet he never did ANYTHING to prove it.

He lost to Pacman 3 times. Got a win over an old bloated Marquez. A draw with DIEGO CHAVES. And barely escaped with his life against Provodnikov and Jessie Vargas.

For comparison's sake, Keith Thurman knocked out Diego Chaves when he only had 20 fights. Even when they were green, I always thought Spence, Thurman, and Porter would've beat Bradley. Let alone, the current versions of those fighters. He didn't retire by accident when Spence became his mandatory.

Oh, let's not forget, he ducked Amir Khan at 140. I don't know how long you've been watching boxing, but this is back when Amir Khan was good. So, he never even established himself as the best at 140.

This is why Timothy Bradley is the most overrated welterweight if not fighter of his generation. He should've never been near top 5 p4p.
While I agree the win over Pac was a gift, he still went the distance three times with a prime Manny and held his own. The version of JMM he beat was a shredded roided up Marquez, not an easy win for anyone. It was a better version of Marquez who fought Floyd.

His decision not to fight Khan was a business decision. If we accuse Bradley of ducking Khan then we have to add Pac and Floyd to that list as well. As with many fights that don't get made it is a business decision and not always ducking.

Most overrated WW should go to the likes of Zab, Guerrero, Ortiz or Alexander.

        Bad style for Cotto
Cotto is a class act, and is the best dresser in Boxing.

If you take the fight as is without considering those huge intangibles I could see it. Pacquiaos speed, accuracy and south paw stance was a nightmare for Cotto.

But it was a beating he took against Margarito and the weight drain was too much. 2 pounds of muscle is a lot and some folk don’t realize the significance. Cotto was a large junior welter and 145 was too much weight drain.

I could see the fight playing out the same but fighters are never the same after a KO beating and are never the same cutting weight.

Don't see him beating any of the top 5 or so, but he'd have a good and entertaining 50-50 fight with Amir Khan.

The only ones I’m not sure Cotto beats is Pacquiao and Crawford.

Come on man, I like Amir but Cotto is stopping him. Amir's speed, jab and combos make him awkward for many fighters historically but once an elite fighter who can punch find his range and times Khan then there's likely only one outcome which is Amir getting stopped. Especially this version of Khan. Khan that fought Alexander would be thoroughly entertaining against Cotto but Miguel is finding that chin, especially when Amir starts dropping his hands to protect that body.

Never drank the cool aid on Cotto. No way he beats Crawford. Porter gives him hell. Thurman has a shot. Garcia might be a bit one dimensional w those counter hooks. PAC beats Cotto anytime anywhere.
