  • Comments Thread For: Jarrett Hurd: I Want Rematch With Julian Williams Next

In his heart, Jarrett Hurd wanted the immediate rematch Julian Williams was contractually obligated to give him to be his next fight. Ultimately, Hurd had to use his head, he says, not his heart, when he decided to pass on the immediate rematch he was owed. Now it's up to Williams to decide whether to grant Hurd an opportunity to win back the IBF, IBO and WBA 154-pound championships he won from Hurd on May 11 in Fairfax, ******ia.

He needs to change a lot of things.

      Work on his jab.

      Non-existent defense.

      Zero head-movement.

      No combinations at all.

      Cutting corners.

      Ring generalship.

As it stands now, I don't see him beating JRock

I'd watch the hell out of the rematch but I have a hard time imagining how Hurd wins. His only shot is a big knockout.

Not interested. The rematch is going to be more one sided as Williams has his number.

There is nothing Hurd can do to overcome Williams’ complete, inside-outside game.

Julian williams is gonna finish him

Hurd looked so unprepared in so many ways. Williams outboxed and outfought him at almost every turn. I think Hurd needs to get back to how he was fighting against Galarza.

The 29-year-old Hurd parted ways with longtime trainer Ernesto Rodriguez following his loss to Williams. Hurd didn’t initiate that split, but he said he hired Kay Koroma as his new trainer once Rodriguez demanded that Hurd eliminate everyone else from his team if they were to continue working together.
Sounds like Kay wanted to get rid of some camp distractions to me.

Do you mean Rodriguez, as it is saying the old trainer was asking to get rid of everyone? Regardless, I thought the same thing about distractions as you

Good, can't happen soon enough. In contrast to Charlo Harrison where I favor Jermell by a slim margin I have to say I easily favor Williams again here though. Quite different scenarios though as far as the nature of the wins and everything else
